Who you are
- A strong track record in eCommerce product management, ideally with experience across both web and app platforms
- A sharp understanding of what makes a great digital discovery and shopping experience - from intuitive filters to personalised recommendations
- Comfortable working with backend and data teams - you understand how foundational product data impacts the end-user experience and how to work alongside data scientists
- Confident leading discovery work - from identifying user needs to validating solutions and shaping MVPs
- Experienced working cross-functionally with commercial, content, and retention marketing teams to drive outcomes
- Excited by the potential of AI and emerging technologies to enhance product experiences
- A thoughtful communicator who brings teams - and stakeholders - along the journey

What the job involves
- Help shape the Content Discovery strategy to ensure families can easily find and purchase content their children will love
- Own and evolve key discovery journeys across Web and App - including our Card Store, search, categories, and recommendations
- Improve content visibility and engagement, not just through sales but also via minutes listened
- Work closely with engineering to improve core product data and backend systems that power our content experiences
- Partner with the commercial, content, and retention marketing teams to enhance merchandising capabilities and power more personalised recommendations
- Support the rollout of in-app purchasing, building on the initial proof of concept and expanding its functionality and reach
- Drive the internationalisation of Yoto’s digital stores, making sure we deliver a smooth and consistent experience across global markets
- Explore opportunities for AI to supercharge content discovery - from smarter search to intelligent recommendations
- Bring a new team to maturity - fostering a collaborative, fast-paced, and outcomes-driven environment

Our take
A key development in the last 5 years has been a move towards screen-based kids entertainment like apps and streaming services. However, more recently there have been concerns that excessive screen time for children can be damaging to health and development. So, many consumers are looking for alternative products which will expose children to modernity without the drawbacks of many modern devices. This is the demand which Yoto is setting out to capitalise on.
Yoto's product - a screen-free audio platform - enables children to access features such as audiobooks, podcasts, and soundscapes via physical cards inserted into the device. The Yoto Player has received considerable early praise from consumers and from investors also, who granted Yoto considerable funding.
Perhaps the most difficult challenge for a business operating in the highly competitive children's toys market is keeping its product current. However, Yoto's software is fully customisable, meaning that alongside its library of content, parents can add their own audio files to the device to suit the interests of their children. This imbibes Yoto with a customisability that gives it an edge, especially as children's tastes change with age.
