Who you are

Programming experience with at least one modern language
Familiarity with fundamental software development tools such as Git, Linux commands, and Docker
At least one year of experience writing technical documentation for a complex software product, whose target audience is software developers
Strong research and analytical skills
Strong interest in writing developer documentation
Some familiarity with programming and programming concepts desirable
Highly detail oriented
Passionate about creating world class software documentation
Familiarity with digital content management processes
Knowledgeable about best practices delivering content in multiple formats
Some exposure to blockchain, NFTs, UTXOs and DeFi is desirable but not essential

What the job involves

In collaboration with and under the guidance of the lead technical writer for the Plutus team, your mission is to help to ensure that the team's documentation is world-class
You will be playing a key role in organizing, structuring, indexing, and editing the team's documentation output
You will be helping to coordinate the development of highly technical content by our compiler engineers, software architects, product managers and formal methods specialists, with whom you must communicate professionally, effectively, and efficiently
Following the agile software development practices used by the team
Working with teams across time zones
Carrying out project related tasks independently
Creating high quality pull requests with clear communication of design intent
Using command-line github procedures (and learning these procedures if you are new to this workflow)
Reviewing the pull requests of others in the team
Developing your knowledge of blockchain and related financial technologies
Working in close coordination with the lead technical writer in identifying priorities and goals
Working with key subject matter experts including software developers, product managers, and engineering stakeholders to create technical content targeted at developers looking to build applications using the Plutus language and tools
Helping to organize all technical content produced by the Plutus team
Publishing updates to the public facing Plutus documentation as needed to keep it synchronized with software releases
Working closely with content authors and other technical writers to ensure compliance with style guides as well as ensuring proper punctuation, grammar, voice, and tone
Integrating content management tools and software into our process
Writing internal documentation, guides and templates for the team’s content creation process
Working with other members of the IOG documentation team to integrate Plutus documentation into the overall presentation of Cardano documents
