Who you are
- Our ideal candidate is a systems thinker who thrives on aligning people, processes, and platforms in service of high-quality data outcomes
- You are comfortable switching between discussing data lineage and ETL pipeline orchestration with engineering to exploring KPI definitions and reporting needs with business stakeholders
- You have a bias for action, an eye for root-cause resolution, and a passion for optimizing how data flows through an organization
- 3–5 years of experience in technical program management, preferably within data or analytics teams
- 8+ years of total experience in technical or analytical environments
- Solid executive presence and confidence in high-stakes environments
- Deep understanding of data platforms, pipelines, and data governance practices
- Familiarity with modern data stacks (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, Power BI)
- Ability to manage the full lifecycle of cross-functional data initiatives
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills with a laser focus on outcomes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence teams without direct authority
- Skilled at balancing multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines
- Technical degree
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
- CSM or equivalent Agile certification
- Experience using Azure DevOps or similar tools for planning and execution
What the job involves
- As a Technical Program Manager on our Data team, you will work alongside data engineers, analytics, and cross-functional partners to manage the delivery of enterprise-scale data solutions
- You will collaborate with stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Analytics, Finance, and Operations to design and execute programs that ensure our data infrastructure, pipelines, and insights are robust, scalable, and business-critical
- You will have a direct impact on how we generate, govern, and utilize data to drive smarter decisions across our software ecosystem
- This includes powering advanced analytics, reporting, data science models, and operational efficiency
- This role reports to the Senior Director, Data Engineering
- Program Delivery: Lead and manage complex cross-functional data programs from concept through execution. Ensure timely delivery of data pipelines, platform enhancements, and analytics tools. Anticipate delivery risks, resolve blockers, and make strategic trade-offs in alignment with business needs
- Stakeholder Management: Drive alignment and collaboration across technical and non-technical teams. Navigate competing priorities and influence without authority to ensure business value is delivered
- Data Program Governance: Establish repeatable processes for defining scope, managing dependencies, tracking delivery metrics, and maintaining quality across data programs. Champion data documentation, testing rigor, and observability as part of execution
- Communication & Reporting: Regularly communicate program status, risks, and outcomes to executive stakeholders. Translate complex data initiatives into clear, business-relevant updates
- Continuous Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in data program execution and operational workflows. Drive initiatives to improve data quality, platform reliability, and delivery velocity

Global logistics company ShipBob fulfills orders and runs two-day shipping and logistics for thousands of direct-to-consumer eCommerce brands in the US. It was created to provide optimized fulfillment for merchants to free up their time to focus on growing their businesses and providing exceptional customer service.
From the start, ShipBob has concentrated on creating a tight product-market fit, and has expanded from there to develop into a franchise model that has helped manage processes at larger scale. This kind of astute and adaptive strategy no doubt contributed to the company landing substantial investment, and enabled it to capitalize on the general lift eCommerce companies received over the pandemic.
With this strong but slow-burn growth, the company can more easily leverage benefits they offer over competitors like Amazon’s FBA service - namely fewer inventory restrictions, lower fees, and packaging without Amazon branding. As the eCommerce boom settles, the company's pace has slowed down, but the general, continued uptick in eCommerce should see it to future success nonetheless.
