Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of comprehensive experience across areas such as development, system administration, DevOps, and MLOps
- 3+ years of experience managing and operating mission-critical production systems
- 3+ years of proven experience working with cloud infrastructure and automation, ideally with AWS and Terraform
- 3+ years of experience in building data pipelines or working with technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, or similar platforms is a bonus
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience
- Experience in database administration would be a significant asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience with both technical and non-technical practices essential for successful agile software development
- Incorporating examples of prior work is highly valued

- Since launching our flagship Generative AI product, we have blown past our revenue targets quarter over quarter, and are looking for a Senior Operations Engineer to help us scale
- We’ve also just announced our Series C funding and are looking for someone to help drive our growth, scale our efforts, and seize new opportunities in this exciting phase!
- Our team is expanding, and we are seeking a dedicated Senior Operations Engineer to ensure our platform infrastructure remains secure, reliable, and continually evolving

- As a Senior Operations Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing robust, automated infrastructure that ensures seamless deployment and integration of our product, as well as the training data pipelines that support it

- Designing, implementing, and maintaining resilient Cloud Infrastructure
- Production and development Infrastructure management and automation
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system visibility and performance
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline CI/CD processes and deployments
- Assist in designing and implementing data pipelines
- Proactively identifying and addressing potential issues to prevent escalation and ensuring smooth operations
- Participating in on-call processes

Our take
Blue J Legal’s AI powered platform was created by a team of law professors and data scientists with the aim of helping fellow legal professionals gain a better understanding of individual cases, more quickly than if they researched an entire case themselves.
Having initially focused solely on legal cases, Blue J also now applies its predictive AI software to tax law – a tool which has become popular amongst tax attorneys and accountants, not just for its speed but for its junior-training applications.
While there’s been huge growth in the use of AI in the legal industry, its outcomes have not been without flaw. Blue J claims 90% accuracy for its predictive software, however there have been some cases documented across the whole industry where AI was biased against minority demographics for example.
The key thing for Blue J Legal moving forward is the accuracy of its software. If the company can maintain the very highest standards and maintain its AI’s integrity, it could become not just financially successful, but socially impactful.
