What the job involves

As an Inside Insurance Agent, you’ll field inbound inquiries from small to mid-size commercial real estate owners and condo association board members. Beyond inbound lead response you will have the immediate opportunity source your own business and earn a materially larger commission on binds you bring to the table
Field inbound requests from prospects who visited Honeycomb’s website or were driven to us by a channel partner
Qualify prospects to ensure Honeycomb is able to offer the best insurance solutions on the market relative to their goals
Responsible for all aspects of servicing including change requests and issuing certificates of insurance
Consult insureds on available coverage options and how to most effectively insure their properties
Bind admitted package policies! Excess & Surplus lines product line to launch in 2024
Nurture existing clients and manufacture larger opportunities from their portfolios and networks
Serve as a critical early member in the development of the direct sales team
Partner with product development team as a critical part of the feedback loop that ensures ongoing product-market fit
Triage tactical requests with Customer Success team and risk assessments with Underwriting team
Fields insured questions across New Business and Renewals that require a licensed Producer

Our take

With many real estate insurers relying on a generalised approach, homeowners and landlords often have to pick up the slack when it comes to complex and serious claims. Plus, insuring properties against rising costs in the US means many insurers simply won't cover a large portion of homes.

Honeycomb Insurance aims to remedy these real estate coverage issues using AI and computer vision to quantify insurance claim costs. It analyses aerial photographs of building roofs and street-level shots to analyse quality and risk, thus removing the need for expensive physical inspections. This means the company can accurately underwrite risks in a fraction of the time, and deliver a better service to more consumers.

The value of this offering is showcased by Honeycomb's expansion to operate across 16 states. It now covers around 60% of the US market and has over $20 billion in assets under its belt. A substantial Series B round in 2024 will help it grow into new insurance markets and accelerate its AI-powered tech, as it aims to triple this asset value by 2025.
