Role
Who you are
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
- 10+ years of progressive experience in data science, with a proven track record of leading significant data science projects from conception to deployment
- Deep expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and experimental design
- Proficiency with Python and experience with relevant data science/machine learning/statistical computing frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, Numpy)
- Strong experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in the cybersecurity domain is a significant plus
- Experience with LLMs is a plus
What the job involves
- We are seeking an exceptional and highly experienced Principal Data Scientist to join our Data Science team. As a Principal Data Scientist you will help shape our data science strategy and drive the development of scalable machine learning solutions that power our cybersecurity ratings engine.
- As a technical thought leader, you will mentor a growing team and collaborate across engineering, product and security teams
- Define and execute on the data science roadmap to advance SecurityScorecard’s core analytics and ML capabilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex cybersecurity challenges
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and research teams to translate business requirements into robust and scalable data science solutions
- Mentor and guide other data scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
- Conduct rigorous research and experimentation to identify new opportunities and approaches for improving our products and services
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and cybersecurity
- Communicate complex technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
