Role

Who you are

  • You have a proven experience in back-end development with some of those languages Ruby / Ruby On Rails / Typescript / NodeJS, with a focus on delivering for security, scalability, reliability and performance
  • You have worked extensively with AWS in a production environment, preferably for high volume / high availability services and understand how to design for, deploy on and get the best out of, the environment and services provided by Amazon)
  • Autonomous with a proven track record in delivering complex projects in time and scope
  • Desire to work in a fast paced, high-growth tech first environment

What the job involves

  • We are looking for an engaged and passionate Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering department and be part of our Core Platform team
  • You will be responsible for the design, development, deployment, and operation of business-critical features that add customer value
  • Operational excellence, metrics, observability and best practices, evangelization, and mentoring in your team and across the whole of Engineering will be part of your day to day job
  • Using Ruby and Typescripts back-end stacks, appropriate for each requirement, but always hosted on AWS, we build added value and resilient services on top of voice and fully integrate with our customers’ business critical tools (CRM, Helpdesk, E-Commerce, …)
  • Build and operate distributed, real-time services powering core of our product
  • Using Ruby and Typescript / Node.js, build, test and deploy applications and systems
  • Own meaningful parts of our service, have an impact, grow with the company
  • Lead architectural decisions for new and existing services
  • Drive projects that increase platform’s resilience and scalability

Our take

Call centres have been a mainstay of sales teams for decades, with the human touch delivering an impression conversion rate of about 30% for inbound calls. However analogue call centres are physical infrastructure-heavy and unable to take advantage of the flexibility afforded by remote and hybrid ways of work. Aircall exists to change that, providing a cloud-based call centre infrastructure that allows sales teams to work from their home offices.

Aircall isn't the only company in this space, and it faces heavy competition from Cloudtalk, another cloud-based call centre solution. However Aircall stands out in the market by its use of open APIs and webhooks, making integration with existing productivity and helpdesk tools much easier, and its superior call quality. Aircall has developed a significant customer base with these strengths, with over 15,000 companies using its platform.

The company has raised significant funding in recent years, highlighting the confidence investors have in their offering. With a rapidly expanding presence in the US, European, UK and Australian markets and recent refresher leadership hires, Aircall could soon be a widely recognised international player in the telephone software industry.
