Who you are

This is a paid internship, so you’re currently enrolled in your last year (or have recently graduated from) university
You have conducted previous internships in fast-paced environments in the past, ideally in a VC, consulting firm, or a startup
You’re a native German speaker and consider yourself a strong communicator. The idea of taking sales calls is truly exciting for you!
You are based in Berlin or willing to relocate for the duration of the internship
Finally, you consider yourself a go-getter who can work well in a dynamic team. You should be able to sell yourself and communicate effectively

What the job involves

To help us bring Birdie to the market in Germany, we’re looking for a Venture Development intern (6+ months or interested in permanent roles) to work alongside our founding team in Germany
See the immediate impact of your effort working on outbound calls
You will be pivotal to our sales effort, helping us build a strong pipeline of qualified prospects
Improve your strategic decision-making by diving into strategic GTM decisions to improve how we find, segment, and approach prospective customers
Gain insight into launching a new market, and a chance to collaborate with the founding team on everything from product to marketing and design

Our take

Birdie offers in-home caregivers a suite of tools aimed at not only increasing their efficiency but ultimately improving the lives of those they provide care for. In the UK alone, nearly half a million individuals are on a waitlist for social care services, and nearly 50% of home care providers have reported their care workers are seeking alternative jobs.

Birdie comes into play by helping care providers optimise their time and minimise the administrative and regulatory burdens placed upon them. It counts over 700 care service providers in the UK including Alina Homecare, Medacs Healthcare, and Care at Home Group amongst its client base, ultimately helping over 35,000 individuals receive the in-home care that they need.

The company is a registered B Corp due to its socially and environmentally responsible practices such as its reduction of environmental footprint, fair worker compensation, and complete corporate/ financial transparency. It is now focusing on growing its solution and scaling into continental Europe, where it’s started to sign partnerships with local care providers, as well as wider business growth.
