Role
Who you are
- Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Data Engineer, ideally in a fast-scaling tech or data-driven environment
- Strong proficiency in Python (or Scala/Java) and SQL
- Deep experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Dagster, Prefect)
- Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and data warehousing (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar)
- Solid understanding of data modelling, data governance, and best practices in data architecture
- Familiarity with machine learning pipelines or AI model integration is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and experience leading or mentoring teams
Desirable
- Proven experience in data management, data engineering, or database administration
- Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python or Scala)
- Experience with data modelling, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and compliance standards
- Strong understanding of metadata management, master data management (MDM), and data quality tools
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for clean, reliable data
What the job involves
- Planning for data team (similar to PMs on the product side)
- Hiring strategy (spend time thinking about DEs demand and what kind of profiles we need)
- Day to day management for all the DEs
- Data quality control (i.e make sure all go lives are successful, think of metrics to measure this…)
- Visit enterprise clients for any data migration related questions
- Making sure that data projects meet deadlines
- Balance short and long term data goals
