Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical engineering, controls and automation, electrical or similar and be highly competent at problem solving challenges in a manufacturing environment
- Great at problem solving, being creative and able to implement solutions
- Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Highly competent at 3D modelling in CAD packages (preferably Solidworks)
- Experience in relevant manufacturing techniques (e.g. laser cutting, CNC and injection moulding) and product packaging
- Good knowledge of control motion systems (actuators, pneumatics, bearings etc.)
- Ideally have experience of PLC programming or coding skills
- A degree in engineering, controls and automation, electrical or similar
- Ideally have 4+ years of experience, but we’re open to strong candidates at different stages of their career

What the job involves
- We’re looking for an exceptional Engineer to join our Operations Team at Skin + Me. This is a full time role based at our state of the art factory in North Acton
- As an Engineer at Skin + Me you will be part of the end-to-end project process - from design, order & build of new machinery and infrastructure
- Work on exciting and challenging engineering projects across the factory
- Deliver solutions to complex and varied engineering challenges
- Work on a diverse range of projects from start to finish including installation, testing, modification, upgrades, and development of machinery and infrastructure
- Provide hands-on technical support to resolve major engineering issues quickly and efficiently

Back in 2018, Skin + Me's founders identified a huge problem in the world of skincare: people don’t just struggle with their skin – they struggle with how they’re supposed to deal with it. With no truly effective solutions available, the company set out to build a pioneering online dermatology service that provides personalised skincare.
Skin + Me takes customers through a simple online medical consultation and work with dermatologists to prescribe a treatment, personalised to the individual. Part of the company's unique selling point is that its made-to-order formulation arrives through a subscription box each month and comes in a ‘Daily Doser’ – a specially designed bottle that dispenses the exact amount of the product needed for daily application.
Skin + Me is supported by a team of dermatologists, pharmacists and direct-to-consumer experts, which allows it to deliver across the business - from skin science to building the technology platform behind it. The company's growth plans include continual development of its services while ensuring it sticks to its ethos: providing desired, effective, and personalised skincare.
