Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in email/SMS marketing for DTC businesses with a focus on converting prospects and churned customers
- Experience building communications programs through CRM and/or marketing automation systems (Klaviyo, Attentive, Shopify, Monday, Simon Data, Braze, Iterable, HubSpot or similar platform)
- Experience working with Looker, or Tableau is a plus
- Familiarity with Figma, Illustrator, or another design tool is a plus!
- Strong skills in analyzing product metrics and extracting actionable insights
- The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is scrappy and resourceful, and has strong creative sensibilities
- You will be expected to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on in executing while also assuring your strategy aligns with the business line as well as overall business goals
- Experience leading cross functional initiatives to get things done - brief building, templates, processes for working with in house teams, ie. creative, organic social
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including exceptional proofreading skills
- Self-starter who can work through immediate challenges while recommending modifications for enhanced efficiency
- Positive attitude, collaborative, and must love dogs!
What the job involves
- As a Lifecycle Marketing Manager focused on introduction, cultivation, and conversion of prospects, you will play a pivotal role in this transformation. You should have a passion for direct response and lifecycle marketing, backed by a proven track record of developing high-impact, scalable growth campaigns across email and SMS.
- You leverage analytics and customer insights to design, execute, and optimize lifecycle marketing strategies, using data to inform every stage of the customer journey and drive measurable growth.
- Your love for segmentation and personalization, combined with a genuine affection for dogs, will empower you to craft strategies that delight both our customers and their furry friends
- Strategize, build and execute automated lifecycle marketing journeys and one-off campaigns across all CRM channels (including email, SMS, and Push) to drive new subscribers
- Primary focus will be within our Play business, BarkBox and SuperChewer, however this role will influence our overall approach to CRM efforts which service all lines of business (BarkBox, SuperChewer, Bright, Air, Eats) and their respective customer journeys
- Continuously conduct A/B, and multivariate tests and analyze results to develop insights that improve acquisition and win-back conversion rate
- Develop customer segmentation, targeting, and contact strategies to maximize the conversion rate and LTV/CAC
- Create prospect nurture programs to ensure long-term engagement for our growing customer base
- Maintain a high bar for marketing creative and copy across lifecycle campaigns; partnering with internal teams and acting as an extension to our in-house creative team to reach key business results
- An ability to articulate and share-out what’s resonating with customers. Owning KPI reporting, including weekly and monthly updates - with an opportunity to share out results to c-level on a regular basis
- Be an in-house expert in lifecycle marketing strategies and help shape how we improve and expand our lifecycle marketing efforts

The number of subscription model services has risen substantially over nearly a decade, and the hassle-free, customizable model makes it a smart fit for pet services. BARK, previously BarkBox, is a subscription company working with retail giants like Amazon, Target, and PetSmart to leverage this trend, delivering monthly boxes of dog products to pet owners.
The recession-resistant nature of the pet sector has made BARK an attractive investment prospect. However, numerous like-for-like US competitors have enjoyed the same market benefits, and whilst BARK's big-name retail partnerships are likely to keep it ahead, at some point it may need to consider more decisive ways of distinguishing itself from competitors.
However, the company has leveraged these advantages into material gains. Further, after a minor rebrand and the launch of BARK food, its own dog food brand, it seems well-placed to continue ahead of the pack. The company also recently partnered with Crocs to release dog Crocs, it's a very fun and exciting new branch for the company that will surely appeal to many fur baby owners.
