Role
Who you are
- You're a hands-on builder who ships (code, videos, presentations, etc.), but you also understand people and their problems
- High EQ and exceptional communication skills - comfortable presenting to Chief Engineers, helping Mechanical Engineers, and riffing with our Product Engineers
- Customer-obsessed - genuinely excited about solving user problems
- An eye for the critical path - you know what the highest-impact thing you can do is, and you can find fast ways of getting it done
- Adaptable - comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
- Software development experience with focus on customer-facing implementations
- Systems thinking - you can see the bigger picture, and optimise for solving underlying problems
- Fast - you can learn, adapt and execute quickly (even at the expense of perfection)
Desirable
- Understanding of hardware development workflows - design reviews, testing protocols, compliance requirements
- Familiarity with modern hardware companies like SpaceX, Anduril, Tesla, and their fast-moving engineering cultures
- Experience with CAD tools, simulation software, or hardware testing frameworks

- Travel to customer sites to support, advise, and learn about how our customers do engineering
- Build solutions to user problems e.g. docs, videos, scripts, API integrations, etc
- Develop deep relationships with engineering teams at leading hardware companies, understanding their incentives, processes and challenges
- Lead technical demos and proof-of-concepts for prospective customers, showcasing Flow's value for hardware development workflows
- Gather and synthesize customer feedback to inform product roadmap and engineering priorities
- Provide hands-on technical support for our customers
- Productize and scale all of the above
Our take
Engineering today is slow. Engineers waste time plugging equations into spreadsheets, rebuilding CAD models that break, and setting up simulations to test similar things over and over again - and this issue only gets worse as complexity is added. Flow Engineering is rebuilding the foundational tools that are used by developing powerful systems that automate the repetitive execution work, letting the computer do the heavy lifting.
Flow's product constitutes a single medium incorporating all the different tools that are needed to design, instead of engineers being forced to use unconnected and fragmented models. The idea is that the tools amplify and magnify engineers' creative abilities, instead of getting in the way.
Furthermore, Flow's product allows for easy collaboration and editing. Changes propagate throughout the entire system instantly, automatically rebuilding models, making the work for the engineers both more efficient and more effective.
