Who you are

3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
Experience with modern scripting languages (bash, python)
Highly proficient with modern Unix/Linux operating systems/distributions
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably in a microservices environment
Experience working in containerized environments
Experience with Amazon Web Services
Excellent communication, interpersonal, team player, and problem-solving skills
Fluent English (both verbal and written)

Desirable

Knowledge of two or more mainstream programming languages (Python, PHP, Java, Nodejs, Shell)
Experience with deployment and maintenance of relational databases
Hand on experience with Jenkins
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
AWS DevOps certification (or others)

What the job involves

We are looking for a qualified and high-energy DevOps engineer to be the one to set the framework for the engineering ops to scale
Production reliability and developer productivity are our guiding principles, and are the key areas which you will help monitor, operate, and improve/optimize
Build new automated frameworks to improve Houzz’s CICD pipelines, testing, and observability capabilities
Create and enhance tooling to improve developers' productivity in local and nonproduction environments
Improve existing processes and frameworks as part of a rapid delivery cycle
Maintain CICD platforms such as GitHub, Jenkin, Spinnaker
Collaborate closely with multiple engineering teams across both infrastructure and product engineering to increase our availability and uptime
Production oncall support, identifying and resolving issues in an agile environment

Our take

Redecorating a house can be costly, time-consuming and needlessly confusing. Houzz’s online decorating platform solves this problem by connecting homeowners, design enthusiasts, and decorating professionals.

Houzz was first launched as a side project, but has since grown to become a community of millions. Its connectivity and practicality have allowed Houzz to scale at an impressive rate, with its progress being considerably accelerated by the boom in home renovations projects taken on during the pandemic.

The company's strong profile allowed Houzz to become a major player in the home improvement space, and it expressed hopes to go public. Macroeconomic conditions, however, have put these plans on hold, with the company instead having to lay-off a number of employees late in 2022. Despite this, the company appears hopeful it can retain its market leadership and return to planning its IPO when conditions have improved.
