Who you are
- Bachelor's degree from a three or four-year college or university
- 2 - 3 years of relevant work experience
- CPA, or on CPA track, preferred but not required
- Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience
- Works independently with general supervision
- Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex
- May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices
- Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP
- Advanced financial analysis skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel
What the job involves
- We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team
- This role offers the opportunity to join a rapidly growing company delivering industry-leading solutions to customers in the world’s most dynamic and fastest-growing sector
- Coordinates accounting functions and programs
- Prepares financial analyses and reports
- Prepare cash tax payment forecasts
- Assists with preparing and monitoring budgets
- Maintains and reconciles balance sheet and general ledger accounts
- Assists with annual audit preparations
- Investigates and resolves audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
- Helps to organize federal, state, local, and special tax returns
- Contributes to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures
- Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules, and regulations
- Ability to work with multi-currency entities and ability to translate cross-currency payments (i.e. USD payments made to CAD entities/jurisdictions)
- Intercompany activity reconciliations and analysis for internal tracking and tax implications
- Ability to work and comply with internal SOX related requirements
- Performs other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned
