Our take
Founded by semi-pro poker player Paul Newey in 1991, Ocean Finance is a credit and loan company. It began its life shrouded in infamy off the back of rising house prices and later, the financial crash of 2008. However, in 2012, Ocean Finance was acquired by Think Money Group and has rebranded as a more trustworthy venture, utilising innovations in fintech to provide a suite of credit card and loan products.
In 2021, Ocean Finance partnered with secure messaging company Nivo to provide a streamlined and secure method of communication with customers. This partnership is a recent example of Ocean Finance’s focus on digital as it continues to modernise its workplace and grow its client base.
With its Capital One issued credit card, student cards, and cards for bad credit, Ocean Finance pitches itself as a helping hand for those looking to improve their credit rating and has trusted finance companies backing them. The proof is in the pudding though, and Ocean Finance must continue to reap positive results through periods of economic turmoil to maintain trust in its brand.
