Who you are

Class of 2027 pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field
Experience in React, Angular, or Vue.js, with a solid understanding of web-based frameworks. At Talos, we use React
Bonus points for familiarity with TypeScript, Redux, or RxJS
Demonstrated development experience (applicable coursework, projects, internships, etc.)
Experience in either crypto or finance, or a strong desire to learn
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

What the job involves

As a Front End Software Engineer Intern at Talos, you’ll work with the team as we develop Talos’s new portfolio management system (PMS)
Our platform is built from scratch to handle the unique challenges of the digital asset market. Talos operates at the intersection of crypto and capital markets. We build high-performance reactive systems and deliver solutions quickly to keep pace with the changing digital assets space
The team is made up of engineers that know building great systems takes time, and we spend the time to ensure the safety, security and performance of our platform
Collaborate with the team to design, implement, test and deploy high performance user interfaces
Work with the product team to deliver solutions that support the full investment lifecycle
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of our execution and settlement product in the digital asset ecosystem
Engage in ongoing learning and exploration of industry trends and advancements related to execution and settlement processes in the digital asset space
Be part of an open and transparent culture

Our take

So far, the increasing institutional interest in the value of crypto-assets has been stymied by a lack of scaled, efficient, and secure infrastructure that these institutions could use for trade. Talos addresses the problem of digital asset trading between institutions, helping them to securely sidestep these obstacles into a fresh market with potentially huge returns.

The company provides a range of end-to-end, highly configurable tools to populate and facilitate the institutional crypto-asset market from just one platform. Talos' approach is helping to lower the bar for wide-ranging adoption of cryptocurrency, supporting the full lifespan of digital assets trading. That said, because the company is developing an entirely new asset class market, progress is accelerated, and competition may have a chance to overtake.

Promising for Talos was the interest of prominent investors, including PayPal and Fidelity, during their Series A and B funding rounds. The funds were used to create an institutional-grade service that would help shape and spearhead this developing market. More recently, the company has formed several significant partnerships, including with BlackRock, and acquired D3X Systems, the integration of which will enable its clients to design, validate, implement, and manage highly customised portfolios.
