Who you are

4+ years of professional work experience as a frontend engineer
Proficient in React Native and React
Experience working on an engineering team at a start up
Extensive knowledge of modern web development technologies, frameworks, and architecture
Collaborative working style with a strong focus on execution and results. Comfortable with a fast paced environment

What the job involves

Frontend engineering within our mobile app (React Native) and web app (React)
Drive decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
Develop high-quality production code and review code written by others
Monitor support tickets to fix bugs and instruct new development to reduce customer support outreach

Our take

In recent years, more emphasis has been put upon the need to build a more circular economy and reduce the massive amounts of products we produce and throw away. Pickle is one company hoping to advance this movement, by supplying a sharing marketplace for people to rent and lend fashion pieces.

Focussing on designer items, Pickle enables users to list items from their wardrobes for rent. This way, they can make money on items that would otherwise be lying around, or that they may even have ended up throwing away. Renters can access exciting pieces without having to purchase them themselves, contributing to lowering the rates of fashion production.

It's certainly an intriguing approach, especially as more and more people are looking for ways to reduce their own waste contributions and consumerism. It's no surprise then that the company has seen strong early funding which will support its expansion into new categories and US markets.
