Role
Who you are
- A business development, sales or partnerships professional with more than three years of experience in public sector sales and partnerships
- A proven track record in sales and revenue generation
- Experience managing public sector relationships and responding to tenders
- Effective communication skills, as someone who can confidently adapt to different audiences
- Ability to understand partner challenges and provide creative solutions
- Entrepreneurial mindset and commercial approach
- Confidence with numbers and financial literacy; comfortable managing budgets and forecasts
- Strong time management and organisational skills; thriving in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with CRM systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics (training can be provided)
- Ability to triage and prioritise tasks
What the job involves
- Researching and identifying new sales opportunities within the public sector, namely with central government departments (directly or via supplier partners) or regional mayoral authorities, utilising platforms such as Tussell, to spot tender opportunities under: Consultancy and insight; Communication campaigns and activations; Business support programmes; Digital first solutions and platforms
- Develop and manage relationships with key supplier partners (in consulting, technology, telecommunications and business support) to ensure Enterprise Nation is top of mind for partnering on bids to either deliver government contracts directly, or social value activity in relation to the tenders
- Managing the full sales cycle, from approaching prospective leads and responding to tenders to developing bids/proposals, pitching and converting sales opportunities. This includes creating innovative campaigns and propositions that address partner challenges, meet agreed revenue targets and deliver measurable results
- Working with the wider partnerships team to engage with agencies who work for government delivering communications campaigns, ensuring Enterprise Nation receives briefs when these campaigns are looking to engage with small businesses
- Working with the CCO, CTO and CCO to sell digital first solutions and support platforms to central government and regional authorities
- Building and maintaining relationships with key departments, authorities and partners to ensure Enterprise Nation is front of mind for future tenders focused on small businesses. Introducing innovative ideas and projects to strengthen and expand partnerships while maintaining strong relationships with both current and prospective partners to secure renewals and foster long-term collaboration
- Negotiating and finalising partnership agreements (and teaming agreements with partner suppliers) in collaboration with the delivery team, with a focus on contracts and performance metrics
- Collaborating across programmes, marketing, and engineering teams to ensure seamless onboarding of new partners and effective execution of partnership activities
- Support the CEO and head of policy and government affairs on public sector engagement activities, turning them into commercial opportunities
- Supporting the programmes team by providing regular reporting on deliverables to partners through detailed documents and calls
