Role
Who you are
- You have experience leading a team, mentoring junior staff, coaching through problems, and going out of your way to support your team
- You are knowledgeable on the mechanics of fraud and abuse within the Ad Tech ecosystem and stay up to date on changes in the industry
- You are willing and capable to dig into the details, reviewing infrastructure, source code and logic, preferably with a experience in SQL, python, javascript, or related languages
- You are a curious, adaptable person who is always thinking out of the box that wants to apply your knowledge to always do the right thing
- You have a strong sense of ownership which drives you to find ways to do things better, faster, and leaner; you hold yourself accountable for the quality and accuracy of your work
- You look to find new and innovative ways to tackle complex problems through meticulous experimentation and application of emerging technologies

- You will be a part of the HUMAN front line in our commitment to protecting companies (and in turn, their customers) from both revenue and reputation risk caused by digital attacks

- You’ll be joining us at an exciting moment in the HUMAN story: we joined forces with PerimeterX in a market-changing merger, as well as recently acquired clean.io to enhance the Human Defense Platform
- Together under the HUMAN brand, we will disrupt the economics of cybercrime. We hope you can join us in that mission
- Manage a cross-functional team of data analysts, scientists, and security researchers
- Lead our research team’s delivery of new fraud detection algorithms for Click Fraud and other forms of IVT, going from strategic planning through day-to-day project execution
- Aligning projects with people’s skills and growth areas, regularly providing feedback, and evaluating individuals’ projects with a keen eye for detail
- Facilitate research into new and emerging threat models within the Ad Tech Ecosystem, as well as new environments and types of advertising that are potential vectors of abuse
- Create or identify new sources of signal across many different environments, as well as evangelizing new industry standards that could be additional sources of signal
- Partner with product, engineering, and customer teams to evaluate the relative priority of the team’s project and better inform the team’s roadmap
- Keep up on industry standards, techniques, cybersecurity trends, and tools adversaries might use to circumvent detection or mitigation
Our take
HUMAN develops threat intelligence software to detect and nullify online bots imitating humans. The company has been in operation since 2011, but was originally known as White Ops until Goldman Sachs acquired it in 2020.

Skyrocketing bot traffic online since 2020 has led to a massive uptick in demand for services like HUMAN's, and the company now counts the likes of Adobe and Yahoo as customers.
HUMAN has established itself as a leader in its market, operating on five continents. With the Goldman Sachs acquisition and strong funding at its back, the company is showing no signs of slowing down. It has continued to bolster its position by merging with web app safeguarding business PerimeterX, as well as acquiring anti-malvertising leader clean.io. In 2024 it announced a string of new leadership hires amidst accelerated investment in the public sector.
