- 5+ years Product Management experience, ideally with AI-enabled B2B products
- Technical track record working closely with development/technical teams
- Experience and ability to understand and shape complex problems into simple solutions
- Familiarity with mechanical engineering workflows or experience working on products that support engineering design, CAD and or PLM workflows would be considered an asset
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams, in a fast paced environment, to define product strategy and roadmap
What the job involves
- As a Product Manager at CoLab, you will shape the requirements for new product features, guide build team projects to ensure desired outcomes, and work with product marketing and success to launch finished features to customers
- Complete customer and user research, maintain roadmaps, brainstorm solutions to challenging problems, and discuss proposals and designs for new ideas with cross-functional teams
- Write clear and concise product requirements to capture the vision, goals, success criteria, and key elements of new products and features
- Use data to inform decisions, validate hypotheses, track performance, and iterate on solutions—leveraging both qualitative and quantitative inputs
- Understand and deconstruct technical and engineering specific problems; translate them into easy to use solutions for our customers
- Represent business goals and solutions; work cross-functionally to solve challenges in product development and arrive at the optimal outcome for the product and our customers
- Collaborate across many teams at CoLab to communicate product requirements and deliver features, striving for the best customer experience, and with willingness to make smart compromises as necessary
Our take
The mechanical design process requires lots of back-and-forth between engineers, designers and business stakeholders who are giving and acting on feedback. Getting everybody on the same page is time-consuming, and comes with lots of admin and flitting between different platforms, whilst important information slips between the cracks.
This is why CoLab has built a cloud-based platform for collaborative mechanical design and reviewing. It integrates into the existing stack of design and engineering teams to bring together all the teams involved in early-stage design. Basically, the platform pools data, feedback, tracking issues, emails, spreadsheets and notebooks into one collaborative space.
Ultimately, CoLab is a simple way to collaborate on concepts and projects at the planning stage, thus nipping in the bud any problems that could arise down the line. With an impressive Series B fundraise, the company plans to scale up its market push, explore the possibilities of AI and expand its team.
