Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of experience as a BI Engineer, Data Engineer, or in a similar role
- Proven expertise in PostgreSQL, including writing and optimizing complex SQL queries
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools like Fivetran
- Proficiency with dbt for data transformation and modeling
- Proficiency with Looker for building and maintaining dashboards and reports
- Experience in financial and revenue reporting is a must
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

What the job involves
- Everlaw is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Senior Data Engineer with experience in financial and revenue reporting to join our Enterprise Technology team
- The Enterprise Technology team at Everlaw is an internal, cross-functional team that owns our core business systems and data infrastructure
- In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions, enabling the finance team to make data-driven decisions
- You will leverage your experience with PostgreSQL, Fivetran, dbt (data build tool), Looker, and other modern data tools to build and optimize our data infrastructure and reporting processes
- Design and implement robust data models to support financial and revenue reporting
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines to ensure timely and accurate data delivery
- Ensure data integrity and security in alignment with organizational and compliance standards
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in Looker to track key financial and revenue metrics
- Collaborate with finance teams to understand reporting requirements and provide actionable insights
- Work closely with finance stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams to ensure data consistency and accuracy
- Implement data validation and testing processes to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Monitor data workflows and troubleshoot issues proactively

Our take
Everlaw builds technology to help corporations, law firms and government entities solve the toughest problems in the legal industry. The company's platform includes features to help speed up legal work, freeing up time to be spent on more value-add activities. Everlaw’s clients include most of the top 10 class action firms in the US and it is also used by state attorney generals in every state in the US.
Law is a big industry where a lot of money is spent, but it has been largely untouched by technology until recently, leaving a big opportunity. Testament to this, the company was able to expand to Australia and New Zealand following a partnership with Australian e-discovery provider Adio. It continues to deliver new features such as "AI Deep Dive" which lets legal teams uncover and verify key evidence from documents.
The company is also pursuing growth for its Everlaw for Good Program, seen at the 2024 Equal Justice Conference in Detroit. That year, it appointed its first program director as it works to dismantle barriers to justice for low-income Americans and marginalised communities in need of legal representation. It now has over 225 participating organizations.
