Who you are

- 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or consulting
- Strong working knowledge of 3-statement financial models
- High attention to detail with the ability to connect the dots between granular data and company-wide strategy
- A proactive and resourceful approach—you don’t wait for instructions, you seek clarity, build, and iterate
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Desirable
- Previous financial experience in hardware or manufacturing sectors
- Experience with NetSuite, or similar ERPs, and business intelligence tools is a plus

What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to play a critical role in building Lightship’s financial infrastructure and supporting strategic decision-making across the company
- Strategic Finance & Planning: Partner with Finance and Business Operations Manager to build and evolve Lightship’s multi-year financial model and long-range planning process
- Contribute to company-level strategic initiatives by developing financial forecasts, scenario models, and business cases
- Serve as a thought partner on key financial topics including cash runway, unit economics, working capital optimization, and fundraising strategy
- Business Partnership & Operational Support: Partner with cross-functional leaders to develop and track key performance metrics, budgets, and spend forecasts
- Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to support decisions across R&D, supply chain, go-to-market, and manufacturing functions
- Financial Operations & Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for internal stakeholders and external investors
- Assist with financial audits, compliance tracking, and regulatory filings as needed
- Continuous Improvement & Systems Building: Evaluate and improve internal processes to support more timely, accurate, and actionable financial insights
- Help implement and optimize financial tools, systems, and dashboards
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, increase operational efficiency, and strengthen the company’s financial position
Our take
Whilst mobile homes and camper vans have become a great way to travel and vacation at a lower cost and carbon footprint, there is still an efficiency problem with the vehicles involved. Due to the extra weight that a trailer creates, vehicles become less efficient in their mileage. Lightship RVs aim to solve that problem with their range of RVs, maximising mileage efficiency and creating comfortable trailer units in the process.
Founded by former Tesla engineers, the purpose-built travel trailers Lightship is building have their own self-propulsion system that enables near zero mile-per-gallon efficiency loss for the vehicle it’s attached to. With an 80 kWh battery within the trailer, it can make sure that a 300-mile range electric vehicle remains at a 300-mile range, thus reducing the anxiety associated with the possibility of a trailer affecting mileage per charge.
It is early days for Lightship, which was founded in 2020, with its hardware currently available to reserve. The company is planning a roadshow across the US to promote its release. The proof will be in the sales then, but with $57 million in funding to accelerate its development, Lightship’s road to success looks smooth.
