Who you are
- The Pathfinders squad at Podimo is seeking a talented Frontend Software Engineer who takes full ownership of their work — from feature inception to completion — and excels in cross-squad collaboration. We're looking for someone who is open to feedback, eager to grow, and willing to share insights constructively
- We are seeking a colleague who is passionate about podcasts and audio content and understands the dynamics of working in an international startup environment
- 4-7 years of experience in Web development
- Strong development experience with React.js
- Proficiency in using TypeScript
- Experience with Jest and a love for unit tests
- Experience with REST APIs
- Experience or willingness to work with GraphQL
- Experience or willingness to work with Next.js
- Experience or willingness to work with asynchronous programming and observables
- Experience or willingness to work with any CMS
- Experience or willingness to work with cloud solutions
- Eagerness to do things in an agile way following best practices in Scrum framework
- Experience or willingness to work with audio and video technologies
- Great communication skills in English
- Naturally, being passionate and knowledgeable about podcasts, audio content, media, and entertainment is a big plus!
What the job involves
- As a member of the Pathfinders squad, you'll focus on top-of-the-funnel activation, working on the Podimo website (e.g., the homepage, show pages, signup pages, and similar) to activate and onboard users into the platform effectively
- Focus on frontend development: write, maintain, and deliver high-quality code
- Take ownership of team deliverables and ensure adherence to code quality standards
- Monitor and oversee system stability and performance
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze business needs, suggest and document solutions, and identify opportunities for improvement

Podcasting and audiobook listening has become and increasingly popular past-time for many. The flexibility of listening to podcasts while doing other activities simultaneously is driving the market growth. Podimo is a podcast and audiobook platform taking the Nordic Countries by storm with its service.
The company boasts its close connection with the creators it hosts on its platform, suggesting a healthy and appealing work relationship for creators to continue using Podimo as its host (an issue Spotify has had multiple times). The company's revenue-share model is not based on the size of following which gives the company a big boost up in the newer podcasters books.
Since its founding in 2019, Podimo has grown to 350+ employees across 20+ different countries and was named the fastest-growing podcast service in Finland. With Apple, Spotify, and Google, it’s easy to think smaller companies don’t have much chance, but Podimo is standing its ground in the Podcast sector and taking on big-name creators. We’re excited to see what recent funding and the acquisition of several companies will do for the company going forward.
