- In this exciting 10-week internship, you’ll work directly with our development, design, and product teams to own, develop, and deploy your very own feature within our mobile application
- You'll gain hands-on experience in coding, design thinking, and product deployment, all while contributing to real projects that matter

- This internship is a 10-week program: June 9th – August 15th
- In the first 5 weeks, you will:
- Meet the team and learn about the mobile app and feature requirements
- Set up your development environment
- Familiarize yourself with the codebase and relevant documentation
- Collaborate with product, design, and front-end teams to plan your feature and define technical requirements
- Begin initial development of your feature
- Learn the process for code commits, reviews, and deployments, and submit your first commits
- Complete the first iteration of your feature and conduct internal testing
- In the last 5 weeks, you will:
- Continue developing and refining your feature, iterating based on feedback from the team
- Participate in daily team meetings to discuss progress and blockers
- Integrate feedback and adjust your feature’s functionality, performance, and design
- Prepare the feature for deployment, ensuring it works seamlessly with the app
- Finalize testing, fix any bugs, and optimize the feature for production
- Present a working demo of your feature integrated into the mobile app
- Complete a final code review, share insights, and discuss next steps for the project
- The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
- Technical Development (React Native, RESTful APIs, TypeScript)
- Develop a strong understanding of React Native, TypeScript, and our mobile app codebase, becoming comfortable navigating and contributing to the project
- Integrate and consume RESTful APIs to display data on the front-end
- Build scalable components and ensure consistency with design guidelines
- Participate in daily team meetings
- Build relationships with team members and reach out for guidance when needed
- Collaborate closely with product and development teams to align on goals and deliverables
- Share progress updates regularly and actively contribute to code reviews
- Analyze feature requirements and propose technical solutions to meet goals
- Troubleshoot bugs and handle feedback constructively to improve code quality
- Iterate on features, refining them based on feedback and testing results
- Take full ownership of the feature development lifecycle, from coding to deployment
- You will join the Evolv Eva mobile app team, working under the guidance of a Senior Software Engineer who leads the front-end development team

Our take
Security screening systems are essential within venues such as concert halls, schools, and workplaces, but there are several problems with existing solutions. For example, lengthy queues and physically intimidating security checkpoints can taint visitor experiences, as well as cause congestion due to their inefficiencies.
Evolv Technology develops AI-driven screening systems, aiming to remove the tension, intimidation, and friction associated with security screening. It does this with a smart touchless screening sensor for weapon detection called Evolve Edge, in addition to an all-in-one venue security analytics platform called Evolv Express.
Whilst the company does face competition from similar security solutions at high-risk locations such as airports, its ability to serve a wide range of venues helps it stand out. With more than 1,200 customers worldwide and a platform combining proprietary hardware, visitor data, and AI-driven software delivered through long-term subscriptions, Evolv has built strong recurring revenue and durable customer relationships. Continued customer additions and expanded deployments helped drive a 40% increase in annual revenue in 2025, showing just how much the company is growing in the emerging market for AI-based weapons screening.
