Role

Who you are

  • We are looking for someone with 3 or more years of experience as an Analytics or Data Science individual contributor who can autonomously address problems and share actionable recommendations that help grow our business
  • The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of experimentation, trend analysis, and causal inference. You should be highly knowledgeable in SQL and Python, comfortable completing peer reviews, and familiar with our techstack or similar tools & services: dbt, Secoda, Looker, Snowflake and Amplitude
  • 3+ years as a Data Analyst or Scientist
  • Previous working experience as a People Manager
  • Expert level SQL and highly proficient with Python for data science
  • Experience modelling and analyzing a high volume of relational and unstructured data
  • Aligned with hyper-growth and fast-paced culture at Super.com
  • Great communication across multiple teams and stakeholders, and able to steer multiple important priorities
  • Bias to action to dive into the data to find a solution to business problems without direct guidance
  • Enjoyment from working on a team of driven individuals with varying specialities (product, ops, data, engineering) to achieve a common goal
  • Strong data modeling skills and ETL knowledge
  • Confidence with peer coding reviews in Git and enjoyment from providing technical mentorship
  • Strong curiosity and a keen interest in continued learning and teaching
  • Interest in predominately working with remote peers

What the job involves

  • We are looking for a Data Analytics Manager to join our team. In this role, your time will be split 35%/65% between individual contributor (IC) and people management obligations
  • You will own the business relationship and analytics throughput for one of our business lines, dealing with data about our financial, earnings or travel products fueled by the membership program and transactional user behaviour
  • The Data Analytics Manager will guide an experienced and knowledgeable team of data analysts & scientists. You will provide technical mentorship, managerial support in the form of time-off requests and career development planning, and strategic guidance to your team. Ideally, you have previously worked on-the-job in a management role
  • Analytical: you will be an ambassador for our data-driven and truth seeking culture, taking data and using it to answer business questions and drive strategy and results
  • Team Management: you will embody our values of open, transparent and respectful, and motivate your team to grow their technical and business sense
  • Visualizations: you will help explain our data in a way that makes sense, evaluating the need and delegating the development of automated dashboards and reports
  • Presentations: you will present insightful findings and share data-driven recommendations that help us make informed decisions
  • Hard Questions: you do not shy away from complexity; as such, you take the time to understand problems, their business implications, and provide solutions that meet the need

Our take

Ecommerce scaleup Super (formerly known as Snapcommerce) is looking to revolutionize the eCommerce experience. Instead of shopping around disparate sources for the best consumer product deals, Super wants users to be able to send a message to their account and have the best personalized deals returned, ready to purchase.

The company has tried-and-tested this approach with its flagship and original platform Snaptravel, which delivers travel deals via a text-like interface across Messenger, WhatsApp, and SMS. It proved a hit, already crossing the $1B sales mark with nearly half of sales coming from repeat customers. This is substantial, as any significant overhaul of how people shop requires both efficacy and popularity to catch on - Snaptravel has both, which bodes well for the broader Super brand.

The recent boom in eCommerce has spilt over into a marked increase in mobile commerce, too. With Gen Z more likely to shop using mobile, and this demographic maturing into a substantial consumer demographic, Super, with its capital raise of more than $160 million, is poised to lead a bold and lucrative new wave in online shopping.
