Role
Who you are
- We are looking for you when you are keen to work with PHP8.1 and know what's good in the latest version of Laravel 9
- A PHP expert with Laravel experience. We are thinking of more than 5 years of working experience
- Ability to write high-performance, reusable and fully tested code
- You worked in SCRUM before and are keen to contribute your ideas and solutions that will bring our application to the next level
What the job involves
- Shipping new functionalities every week for a continuously changing product in one of our teams
- Bringing a deep knowledge of design, analysis, development, and testing while exceeding industry standards in terms of high-quality code and security
- Using new techniques such as organising Laravel Applications with Actions
- Working with a Product Manager and an Engineering Manager to refine high-level stories before they are further presented to your team
- Participating in code reviews and providing feedback to other developers to ensure code quality
- Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to established coding standards

Our take
High quality notes and resources are necessary at every level of education, but at times personal notes can be incomplete or missing details. The founders of Studocu have created a platform that allows students to share notes, resources and study materials, that now holds materials from universities across the world.
With millions of users every month accessing the platform, there is undeniable demand for Studocu's services. Much of the company's popularity may be ascribed to its freemium model, which keeps 85% of its content free to access. The other 15% can be accessed by students who either upload their own study materials or pay a fee.
Studocu has seen impressive investment which has enabled it to expand substantially. It also acquired Studybees, its German counterpart, to support this expansion. In 2024, Erasmus University Rotterdam filed a lawsuit against the company which will be interesting to follow, as it surrounds whether Studocu should have to proactively screen materials for copyright breaches, rather than its current report/takedown approach.
