Director of Social Media, Ava Labs

• The ideal candidate brings a rare combination: deep hands-on experience in crypto and institutional marketing alongside proven experience communicating to institutional audiences such as financial services, fintech, or enterprise technology
• You understand how to speak credibly to both the DeFi power user and the institutional investor — and you can craft content that resonates with both
• This role requires someone who is highly creative, self-sufficient with production tools, and passionate about building in public. You will own our voice and move fast
• 7+ years of social media experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within crypto, Web3, or DeFi
• Demonstrable experience at a crypto-native or crypto-adjacent institutional platform (e.g., FalconX, Coinbase, Kraken, Grayscale, Gemini, or comparable)
• Proven ability to manage executive social media presence, including ghostwriting for C-suite leaders in a credible and authentic voice
• Expert-level fluency across Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram — including algorithm dynamics and platform best practices
• Hands-on video editing skills: comfortable clipping long-form content and producing short-form social assets independently (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar)
• Working proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or equivalent for basic graphic production without relying on a design team
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone, style, and format across audiences and platforms
• Based on the East Coast; NYC preferred for in-person collaboration

• We are looking for an exceptional Director of Social Media to lead Avalanche’s brand presence across all owned channels and shape how the world perceives Avalanche. This is a senior individual contributor and people management role that sits within the Marketing organization, reporting to the SVP of Marketing
• Own and drive strategy for all Ava Labs social channels: Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram
• Develop and execute platform-specific content calendars aligned to product launches, ecosystem milestones, and market moments
• Grow audience, engagement, and brand affinity across all platforms with a data-driven approach
• Partner closely with our CEO to curate, draft, and refine Twitter/X content that authentically captures his voice and perspective
• Develop a deep understanding of the CEO’s communication style, opinions, and priorities to ghostwrite tweets and threads that feel native and resonant
• Proactively surface timely tweet recommendations and reactive commentary opportunities aligned with industry conversations
• Directly manage and mentor a team of 1, setting clear goals and career development priorities
• Serve as the senior social voice within the Marketing org, collaborating cross-functionally with PR/Communications, Content, Partner Marketing, Events, and BD teams
• Establish scalable processes for content production, approval, scheduling, and performance reporting
• Independently clip, edit, and publish short-form video content from long-form sources (podcasts, AMAs, interviews, events)
• Perform basic photo editing and graphic production to enable fast publishing without always requiring designer support
• Source and adapt content from across the Avalanche ecosystem to amplify community voices and partner narratives
• Track, analyze, and report on channel performance metrics; translate insights into actionable strategy adjustments
• Monitor competitor and industry social activity to identify trends and positioning opportunities
