What the job involves
- As a Director of Engineering, you will be managing a high-performing engineering org consisting of 3-4 squads of engineers covering our product value streams from our HQ in El Segundo, CA. We have team members stretching from El Segundo to LATAM to central Europe
- This role will report directly to our VP, Engineering. You will mentor, lead, and grow our team of software and infra engineers while operating effectively in a Series B environment—comfortable with ambiguity, lean process, and rolling up your sleeves into code, design reviews, or incident response when the situation calls for it
- As Director of Engineering you will also:
- Drive hiring strategy and close top engineering talent
- Motivate and communicate across multiple levels of their department
- Have successful peer partnerships with other department leaders in Engineering, and cross-functionally (product, sales, marketing, etc)
- Partner closely with Product leadership to translate roadmap into executable engineering plans, including running prioritization and trade-off conversations
- Development, measurement, and management of key metrics for team performance
