Role
Who you are
- Minimum 4 years of Engineering Manager experience in a software development org
- Significant experience building scalable data pipeline services and data storage systems
- Significant experience using data and analytics to solve problems
- Strong SQL, analysis, code quality, testing, and technical writing skills
- Experience with Python, Postgres, Clickhouse, Airflow, Kubernetes, Databricks, Spark and the AWS ecosystem is strongly preferred
- Experience with AI, Machine learning, Deep learning and MLOps is desirable but not required
- Experience LLMs, vector stores, other big data processing technologies, streaming-data, and large columnar datastores is desirable but not required
- Demonstrated success building and shipping software products in spite of market ambiguity or company challenges
What the job involves
- You will manage the Data Platform team (7 engineers), working closely with product, data science and other engineering teams to deliver data solutions that support client and media planning evaluation of streaming television ad campaigns
- You will work closely within the measurement and data engineering groups to set technical direction and make effective trade-off decisions (but not write code yourself)
- As we are growing, you will need to help hire and onboard new team members and define the growth roadmap for the team
- Lead and mentor a team of data infrastructure engineers. Set ambitious goals for your team and drive effective projects to achieve these goals
- Grow and manage your team. We’ll give you the resources and support to build out an amazing engineering team, but it’s up to you to create and execute that plan
- Define and drive the data platform strategy, ensuring prioritization and alignment with broader business goals
- Coordinate with other internal stakeholders such as Data Science, Product, Site Reliability and other engineering teams to help deliver company initiatives
- Help to iterate and improve our team processes, focusing on efficiency and quality
- Sponsor good technical decision making for the org. Ensure the data platform architecture is scalable, reliable, and optimized for performance
- Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and relationship management with external providers (e.g., AWS, Databricks)
- This role is currently based out of our SF, LA or NY office with a hybrid WFH policy until further notice

Television advertising has changed dramatically since it first began, with advertisement campaigns growing in scale, having increasingly large budgets, and migrating to modern alternatives such as CTV. Despite these increased demands, television advertising remains antiquated relative to the modern data-driven campaigns of mobile platform ads, presenting opportunities for innovations within the industry.
Tatari provides a TV and CTV advertisement data and analytics platform, helping clients to future-proof their advertisement campaigns through real-time data-driven approaches. The company achieves this by providing a dashboard for analyzing the success of campaigns, facilitating data-driven media buying, and managing on-demand CTV campaign changes, ultimately aiming to digitize the TV advertisement process.
Whilst it is undeniable that Tatari faces competition from providers of TV advertisement analytic platforms, media buying platforms, and other data-driven solutions, it has been smart to unify such tools into an all-in-one digital TV advertisement management dashboard. The company shows great potential to help clients future-proof the way they run TV ads, and has been busy expanding its product suite and licensing portfolio through 2022 and 2023.
