Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of program management experience in the consumer-facing technology industry, with at least 3 years of experience leading large, complex engineering programs in a cross-functional environment
- Strong technical background, with experience in facilitating technical discussions on hardware, power systems, electronics, and firmware
- Proven experience leading complex programs across multiple technologies and aligning workstreams across technical disciplines
- Extensive experience working with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, design, operations, supply chain, legal, and policy teams
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical details to both technical teams and executive stakeholders
- Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and make decisions in fast-paced, complex environments
Desirable
- Experience in the micro-mobility, bicycle, automotive, or related industries is a plus
What the job involves
- As a Staff Engineering Program Manager, you will help deliver the next generation of Lime vehicles and accessories, driving innovation and ensuring excellence throughout the product development process
- You will lead a dynamic, multidisciplinary team and collaborate closely with key stakeholders from product management, engineering, design, operations, supply chain, legal, and policy teams
- Your ability to identify bottlenecks, support technical decisions, manage escalations, and balance business needs with technical constraints will be essential to the success of the program
- Lead programs through coordination of a cross-functional team to deliver next-generation vehicles and accessories from concept to launch
- Facilitate technical discussions across teams, focusing on product architecture, design/development tradeoffs, and integration of various technologies
- Provide clear and concise program health updates to stakeholders, ensuring alignment across teams
- Manage the team through uncertainty by identifying issues, supporting decision-making, and ensuring key program outcomes are prioritized
- Ensure strong financial discipline by managing program costs, adhering to budgets, and identifying risks to program financial targets
- Identify and mitigate program risks and issues, taking proactive measures to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
- Contribute to process improvements within the program management function, implementing best practices and driving operational efficiencies for successful program delivery

In recent years, electric-powered mobility companies have attracted an extraordinary amount of interest and funding, in part due to rising eco-friendly sentiment, and in part because of the race to "find the next Uber". Lime is one such company, that has rapidly scaled across multiple geographies to be a key player in the fight for market leadership.
Lime, along with its competitors, has had to grapple with regulation in many of its target markets, but nonetheless has steadily increased its footprint. Since its launch, the company has facilitated millions of trips, making it one of the biggest companies of its kind. Interestingly, the CEO has stated that "cars are our true business rivals—not other scooter companies", suggesting that its biggest business challenge will be to get families to give up their second cars.
With a presence that spans an impressive number of regions - in 2023, Lime began operating in Qatar - the company has cemented itself in the micromobility market and stands to profit from the increasing popularity of these types of services. A substantial increase in ridership enabled Lime to achieve "free cash flow positivity" two years in a row, with suggestions it will pursue a US IPO in 2027.
