Who you are
- You are passionate about selling and driving business growth
- You have experience with or a knowledge of recruiting for IB, VC, PE, PM, etc. and/or applying to graduate school (MBA, Law School, Med School, etc.)
- You are an outstanding communicator with excellent people skills
- You are a team player and will strive to find ways to make our team win
- You are scrappy and willing to get into the weeds
- You are customer-centric and passionate about ensuring client success
- You are motivated by goals and are a high achiever
- Availability to work at least 15 hours a week on nights/weekends
- BA or BS degree
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a talented sales intern who will be instrumental in scaling our consumer sales efforts and driving the growth of our business.
- You will engage with prospective clients, qualify leads, and help guide them to the right coaching solutions. If you are interested in sales and growth, working with an experienced team, joining a well-funded high-growth startup, and making a meaningful impact in the world, we’d love to chat
- Consistently achieve monthly revenue targets through sales
- Guide prospective clients from initial interest to booking a qualified meeting with an Account Executive
- Help build a strong sales pipeline through outreach and other marketing channels
- Develop a strong knowledge of the 30+ featured coaching categories on the Leland platform (e.g., PM, Consulting, IB, College, MBA, etc.)
- Build winning playbooks and other resources to help the team succeed
- Contribute to our team culture by fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment

Coaching is one of the fastest growing industries in the world, making for a competitive market containing the likes of BetterUp, Torch, CoachHub, and plenty of others. However, with the space dominated by the tried and tested professional marketplace model, Leland stands out for its focus on helping individuals improve their careers.
Leland asks users to share their ambition - whether it be passing grad school entry tests or building skills to change career paths - then it pairs them with the right coach rather than leaving them to figure it out alone. On the other side of the platform, there’s access to new revenue streams for professional coaches, who sign up to the platform on a freelance basis and set their own rates and availability.
Leland’s niche focus, coupled with a growing demand from the public, should create a strong chance for growth despite the competitive environment. With strong funding at its back, the company has worked to expand its coaching categories as it scales up and tries to attract more users.
