Role
Who you are
- 3–5 years of experience in an analytics, data, or business intelligence role
- Understanding of consumer brands, ecommerce, and important metrics and benchmarks in the industry
- Strong proficiency in SQL — you're comfortable querying large datasets, writing clean, efficient code, and understanding optimal data modeling
- Experience building and maintaining transformation code in dbt
- Experience with Snowflake
- Experience building models and dashboards in Google Sheets / Excel; able to translate complex data into clear business narratives and actionable insights
- Familiarity with Tableau
- Knowledge of Python is a plus — experience using it for data manipulation or automation is a bonus
- Strong communication skills — you can explain data clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A self-starter mindset: you ask good questions, dig into problems independently, and know when to loop others in
What the job involves
- We're looking for an Analyst to join our Client Insights team and play a key role in how we use data to protect and empower our merchant partners
- You'll sit at the intersection of analytics, product, strategy, sales, and merchant success; the models, reporting, and insights created and owned by this individual will have a direct impact on sales and merchant retention
- Our team is helping build the next-generation of AI-driven post-purchase customer solutions and this role will be instrumental in driving the success of these solutions. This is a high-impact role for someone who's curious, detail-oriented, and excited about turning data into action
- Build and maintain models to support business cases, operational planning, and strategic decisions
- Develop and own merchant-facing reporting models and data visualizations that communicate performance clearly and compellingly
- Partner with sales, merchant success and growth teams to deliver data and analysis that helps retain and upsell merchants
- Respond to adhoc data requests from internal stakeholders including GSMs and AEs, providing timely and accurate insights
- Work closely with data engineering and product teams to stay aligned on underlying data changes and surface opportunities for improvement
- Contribute to building a more scalable, sophisticated reporting pipeline over time
Our take
Extend allows online and offline merchants to offer product warranties and protection plans at the point of sale. It aims to provide a comprehensive and centralized warranty system where before there was not one. The company also provides customers themselves with a fast support experience, where 95% of claims are resolved in just 90 seconds.
Its API based platform is integrated into the likes of Shopify, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud and BigCommerce, and can also be integrated into private client-owned e-commerce platforms. This ease of use is what makes Extend so appealing for clients.
On top of this, its seen good funding thats fuelled business growth and geographical expansion. It’s interesting to note that PayPal Ventures and SoftBank are two of their main backers, as this indicates that payment giants see the value of these point of sale transactions. And in 2022, it was named a certified partner of Shopify and reached an important milestone in becoming a full-service company, taking it one step closer to its vision of becoming the "AppleCare for everything".
