Who you are
- 7+ years of experience in Partner Management, Customer Success, or Account Management role; 1-2 years of management experience preferably in high growth startups or tech-enabled companies
- Advanced understanding of digital marketing, PR, content, SEO, and/or earned media strategies
- Proven leadership track record growing existing enterprise customers through expansion and renewal
- Talent for managing account relationships, navigating retention situations, and identifying red flags
- Experience leading and developing a team of account managers; comfortable working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve customer outcomes
- Proven track record successfully achieving book of business revenue targets
- Highly organized and process-oriented operator with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- People person with low ego and a strong desire for personal growth
- Strong executive presence, proven ability to build relationships with senior external stakeholders
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working in undefined environments
What the job involves
- Stacker is seeking a Senior Account Director, Enterprise to work directly with our largest commercial partners
- As a senior team lead, you’ll report directly into our SVP of Revenue and oversee 1-2 account managers that will be responsible for Enterprise customers using our content studio and syndication products
- Develop and implement strategic account plans that align with enterprise brand needs and drive increased renewal and expansion
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders for brand partners, understanding their goals, needs, and challenges
- Lead a team of Account Managers to ensure we’re delivering excellent services to our partners
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Newsroom, and Operations teams to ensure we’re successfully coordinating across partner campaigns
- Maintain high service level and ensure timely resolution of customer concerns and issues
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends, improve retention, and drive growth
Our take
The US journalism market is huge, forming a huge part of many people's lives. Yet, despite this, distrust of journalism has become a major problem in recent years. With news outlets increasingly being accused of being unreliable, great opportunities are arising for journalism companies which can produce consistent and accurate news.
Stacker is hoping to do just this. Founded in 2017, Stacker combines data analysis with rich editorial context, drawing on authoritative sources and subject matter experts to drive storytelling. This emphasis on high-quality data being at the heart of their stories is likely to help Slacker resonate with a consumer base that has become disaffected with other media outlets.
Competition in this market is naturally high, but despite this Stacker has seen strong early success. Partnerships with the likes of Nexstar Media Group and Boone Newspapers have given it a good base to build upon. Next steps in its roadmap include adding further data points such as additional SEO, reach and impact data, as well as a suite of notifications. It will also explore using its analytics foundation to support nonprofit newsrooms through a newly-launched pro bono program.
