Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; a master's degree is a plus
- Proven experience 7+ years working as a web application developer, with 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, and at least 3 years managing an offshore team
- Expert-level proficiency in frontend technologies such as TypeScript, CSS, HTML, and frontend frameworks (React, style components)
- Experience with modern development tools and workflows (e.g., git, npm, webpack)
- Solid understanding of SaaS platforms and technologies (e.g. AWS, Kubernetes, SQL)
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, and project management principles
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with remote work tools and platforms for communication, project management, and collaboration
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities
What the job involves
- As the App Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in leading our offshore application development team to success
- You will be responsible for guiding the team in building innovative and user-friendly web applications while ensuring high standards of code quality, performance, and scalability
- This role requires 50% team leadership, 50% individual contributor, and 50% technical product management
- Lead and mentor a team of offshore web application developers, including managing workload, setting goals, and providing mentorship, guidance and support
- Coordinate team activities, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely delivery of projects
- Monitor project progress, identify and resolve issues
- Analyze technical challenges and propose innovative solutions to overcome them
- Stay updated on the latest frontend development trends, tools, and technologies
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on architectural decisions and best practices
- Make informed decisions based on technical feasibility, business priorities, and user needs
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance development processes and workflows
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop user-friendly web applications
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using modern frontend technologies such as Typescript, CSS, HTML, and frameworks like React, and styled components
- Ensure the implementation of responsive designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
- Conduct regular code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to coding standards
- Implement best practices for testing and quality assurance to deliver robust and reliable software solutions
- Serve as a liaison between Product Management and the offshore team, clarifying requirements as needed to ensure successful delivery of features
- Collaborate effectively with product managers, stakeholders, designers, and other development teams to translate requirements into technical solutions, and ensure successful project delivery
- Communicate project status, challenges, and progress updates to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner
