Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales preferable at a Fintech company, with a track record of top performance
- Experience selling and building relationships with complex platforms and marketplaces while growing and managing a sales pipeline
- A strong understanding of various business models and strategies in SaaS Platforms and Marketplaces
- Ability to conduct consultative sales process and is comfortable with analyzing and presenting data
- Technically savvy, you know how to work with product and engineering teams to ensure a partner's technical needs are met
- A strong desire and ability to operate in a highly ambiguous environment
- An A+ Team Player who values helping your peers succeed and the overall success of Parafin
- Driven to help grow small businesses

What the job involves
- We're looking for a passionate business developer with an entrepreneurial spirit who is excited to be a foundational member of our partnerships team
- As an integral member of the team, you'll play a key role in helping define our partnership motion, shape our future product, and have a direct impact on the success of Parafin
- You'll report directly to Parafin’s Head of Platforms, working closely with Product and Leadership to grow the partnership function
- Your role will also be responsible for helping shape Parafin’s partnership strategy and culture
- Drive awareness for Parafin and embedded fintech by identifying and prospecting platforms
- Proactively identify target accounts, initiate outbound messaging, and present Parafin’s offering to external commercial and product teams
- Manage the full sales cycle from outbound prospecting to closing deals, using a consultative sales approach
- Negotiate and structure platform agreements, collaborating with GTM leadership legal to close
- Partner with internal and external cross-functional teams on structuring and executing operational and strategic initiatives
- Play a leading role in creating the GTM sales motion and creating the gold standard for helping prospects throughout their sales journey
- Develop a strong understanding of the Parafin products and value proposition
Our take
Parafin is a fintech platform helping SMBs access growth capital. It targets platforms where SMBs sell and transact and offers an embedded finance solution with which these platforms can offer loans ranging from $500 to $10M. Parafin provides the capital for these loans and assumes the risk, allowing platforms to offer competitively attractive incentives to help them draw in a larger proportion of the growing SMB market.
Parafin’s focus on SMB growth funding is canny. Most worldwide businesses fall into the SMB category, but funding access for these businesses shrunk dramatically post-pandemic when traditional banks became more conservative with their loan approvals. This exacerbates SMB cash-flow issues, which reportedly already account for more than four in five SMB failures.
This means Parafin is helping platforms fill a growing and crucial market niche. With leadership from former Robinhood employees, confident funding from major players including the founders of Robinhood, DoorDash, and Plaid, and partnerships with Amazon, Parafin looks poised to net a substantial and lucrative market.
