Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Systems, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science or other closely related field and 2 years of experience in job offered or related occupations
- Must have 2+ years of experience in the following skills: Understanding of APIs, backend systems, and how data integrations work from both a development and maintenance perspective
- Managing or leading 3rd party API integrations; Running complex SQL queries for ad-hoc data analysis; Business intelligence platforms such as PowerBI
- Confluence and project management software; Process diagramming tools such as Lucidchart, Figjam; Cloud technologies and platforms like AWS; agile development process, UX, and customer involvement
What the job involves
- The Guarantors seeks a Product Manager in New York, NY to:
- Gather and articulate comprehensive software product requirements utilizing a diverse range of analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Full Story, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Power BI, Confluence, JIRA, Figma, Notion and Usertesting.com
- Formulate and oversee the software product roadmap for the team, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Explore and validate novel concepts that contribute to both business and customer value, employing rigorous testing methodologies such as User interview, Surveys, Focus Groups, Usability Testing, A/B testing, Competitive Analysis, Customer Journey Mapping and Analytics and Data Analysis
- Collaborate seamlessly with Design and Engineering counterparts to effectively manage the team’s backlog
- Spearhead scrum ceremonies and meticulously adhere to Agile best practices in collaboration with the engineering team
- Drive the execution of the software product roadmap by establishing sprint and release goals, proactively eliminating team roadblocks
- Efficiently manage cross-team dependencies within the product team, fostering a collaborative environment
- Actively engage and manage stakeholders, capturing valuable feedback and securing buy-in for roadmap deliverables
- Align seamlessly with Sales, Marketing, and other stakeholders to develop and execute effective go-to-market strategies
- Organize and maintain clear and concise release notes, product documentation, and technical documentation
- Present compelling product opportunities to the Product team, ensuring alignment with Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
Our take
Home rental rates across the US are soaring. On average, rent went up by over 10% in a single year between 2021 and 2022, while in some cities that increase is as much as 40%. Renters are now struggling more than ever to qualify for homes and afford security deposits, which also impacts landlords who lack security.
TheGuarantors, which is a licensed insurance agent and broker bridges this gap by acting as a co-signer, then offering to cover and underwrite security deposits if necessary in exchange for a percentage fee of the monthly rent.
There’s been a lot of movement in the rental startups space of late, with venture capital being poured into companies like rent-to-own Divvy and rent now, pay later startup Jetty.
TheGuarantors, however, has seen immense user uptake on its platform and has won the capital backing of Portage Venture, which it intends to use to scale both its product offering and staff headcount. This, plus B Corp certification awarded in 2024, will help TheGuarantors expand its market visibility.
