Who you are
- This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of analytics, systems thinking, and cross-functional collaboration, with a strong foundation in dataflow design and a passion for operational excellence
- 6–8+ years of experience in Analytics, Data Management, or Systems-focused roles in gaming and/or technology
- Strong technical foundation, experience designing data flows, managing recurring data pipelines, and building structured data checks
- Skills and experience in SQL, Python, Javascript is a bonus
- Skills and experience in Data visualization
- Strong collaboration skills, able to work cross-functional partners to align data needs and technical design, implementation
- Being a dedicated fan of games is not necessary for this position!
Desirable
- Experience with enterprise platforms like Workday, OneStream
- Familiarity with data engineering concepts (e.g., ETL, SQL pipelines)
- Background in supporting large-scale systems integrations or data migration efforts
What the job involves
- As an Insights Analyst III on the BizOps & Strategy team, you’ll support the Resource Management Office in designing scalable, system-driven solutions for headcount planning and organizational reporting
- You’ll play a critical function in enabling high-quality, scalable reporting and data capabilities for BizOps initiatives and workforce planning projects
- You’ll work closely with enterprise tech partners to move resource planning and reporting capabilities into system-based solutions
- You’ll also support the design of data flows and spreadsheets that serve as interim solutions while longer-term systems are implemented
- You’ll report directly to the Sr. Manager of Business Operations
- Scale BizOps tools to enable full resourcing, demand planning, and capacity analysis through integrated reporting infrastructure
- Optimize data pipelines for faster, sustainable refreshes that support recurring analysis and deeper insights
- Own monthly workforce update refresh process: validate data, resolve discrepancies, and follow up with HR, TA, and Finance partners as needed
- Design and maintain scalable data pipeline and lightweight tools that ensure consistency and accuracy in RMO reporting, and meet evolving business needs
- Partner with systems teams to align on future-state technical architecture and the migration of workforce data/reporting into system-solution
- Develop user-friendly dashboards and internal tools using SQL, Python, GSheets, and platforms like Softr to enhance visibility and usability of resourcing data for Ops Leads and partners
- Document processes, data definitions, and workflows to ensure sustainability
- Act as the technical point person within the BizOps team, bridging business needs with system capabilities
- Translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical requests for systems and data engineering teams

Our take
Riot Games has grown into one of the world’s most prominent online and mobile game developers, due in large part to the success of its 2009 flagship title League of Legends which hosts just under seventy million users every month.
Riot is riding the wave of online gaming growth, having made a well timed switch from PC-only into mobile-based gaming, as capitalising on the rising popularity of esports, with the League of Legends World Championships one of the most watched events in the space.
However, adding further titles to its resume will be key to building on its success, as League of Legends was its only offering for the best part of a decade. Since being acquired by Chinese tech giant Tencent in 2011, the company has grown significantly in Asian markets, opening its Shanghai Game Studio in 2021 and expanding its China Game Studio Group in 2022. These two hubs will help Riot Games make further inroads in a country where PC gaming is already huge and continues to grow.
Regardless of League of Legends' success both online and in live arenas, the company nevertheless experienced a round of layoffs internationally that amounted to 11% of its workforce. Pair that with legal troubles in 2024 concerning the company’s partnership with now bankrupt crypto exchange FTX, and Riot Games appears to be in a period of transition. Thanks to the strength of its gaming products, however, Riot will no doubt maintain a comfortable position within the gaming world.
