Who you are
- A law degree or equivalent legal qualification, or working towards a legal qualification
- At least 1 years’ relevant experience in a commercial/corporate environment
- Ambition to learn within the entrepreneurial spirit of the Upvest and from in-house team of experts whilst developing your own skills
- Helpful, hardworking approach with high degree of initiative
- Collaborative approach and ability to work well in a team
- Flexible can-do attitude and the ability to multitask

What the job involves
- We are looking for a highly motivated Paralegal reporting to the GC to provide support across the legal team. This role offers a unique opportunity to understand Upvest’s business processes and work on a wide array of legal and regulatory matters in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Be part of the story to build an easily accessible investment product with regulatory excellence reaching 100m end users
- Provide support to the legal team at Upvest in the UK and Germany
- Enhance your legal skills, and make a significant impact in a leading fintech company
- Collaborate with the legal team to provide assistance on a variety of legal and regulatory issues, including financial regulations, commercial contracts, consumer T&Cs and privacy
- Assist with updating legal and compliance documents such as policies and manuals, as well as drafting, reviewing and executing a broad range of legal documents, including NDAs and commercial contracts
- Manage legal operations by improving and scaling processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness using legal tech
- Maintain and organizing the contracts database, and generally leading on document management
- Assisting with general administrative tasks and ad-hoc projects to improve the processes within the Banking Team

Upvest's investment API integrates seamlessly with its customers existing systems and is designed to scale easily, freeing companies from the need to develop their own brokerage and custody infrastructure from scratch.
As one of the few companies in Germany that is licensed for both the custody of traditional securities and crypto, Upvest is able to provide its services across Europe. Its solution has been readily adopted by some major players in the space including Ginmon, Vivid and ABN AMRO.
Upvest is backed by a number of Europe's largest tech VCs (Earlybird, Notion Capital, Partech, HV Capital, ABN AMRO Ventures) alongside American investment monolith BlackRock. In 2023, it closed a VC investment round, which the company has claimed is one of the largest in the German fintech arena. This was followed up by an impressive Series C at the end of 2024, which is being used to grow its team, enhance its product and cement its presence in the UK.
