Who you are

You should have very strong system design and testing skills and excellent coding skills
3+ years of experience leading a team of Software Quality Engineers
Must have a solid understanding and ability to develop code in Python or other mainstream language
Hands-on experience with Unix-based systems is required
Experience with tools and applications such as JIRA, Confluence, Git,
Artifactory and dependency management tools like Poetry/Maven/Gradle
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to analyze complex problems in large systems
Must be a detail-oriented, analytical, and creative thinker with a passion for quality and test automation
Bachelors in Robotics, Computer or Electrical Engineering plus 10 years of professional experience OR
Masters in Robotics, Computer or Electrical Engineering and 8 years of professional experience in software testing

What the job involves

The Senior Manager, for Software Engineering in Test is responsible for managing a group of engineers to test our robotics control systems
In this role, you will coordinate testing for the functional areas, mentor junior engineers, and report on product quality
To be successful in this role, you will be relentless in finding ways to improve our processes and increase development efficiency
Work with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive test plans for new functionality in testing our robotics software
Develop efficient test strategies for the different systems making up the product
Develop and execute automated and manual smoke, regression, functional, and acceptance tests
Report defects and investigate/debug failures
Identify trends in failures and implement countermeasures to prevent recurrence of failures
Drive process improvements to improve efficiency in software testing
Occasionally travel to the production or test sites to assist with testing activities

Founded as Alert Innovation, the company has partnered with Walmart from the start, meaning it was no surprise when the retail giant acquired it in 2022.

The company's goal is to use robotics to replace labor-intensive processes, for example the gathering of requested items in fulfilment centers. Its Alphabot hybrid warehouse system provides automated picking that works alongside human workers, with robots retrieving items and delivering them to a picking station where workers can efficiently prepare the customer orders.
