Role
Who you are
- You have 10+ years of experience in strategy, operations, product, growth or other related areas
- You have technical and analytics experience in building financial models and defining performance tracking to measure the success of your initiatives
- You have bias for action and a track record of leading initiatives, hitting goals, and succeeding in a cross-functional team environment
- You are familiar with the developments of AI and can apply them to our operations and delivery
- You have led high performing teams and are effective at working across product, engineering, marketing, legal, and many other departments
What the job involves
- We are seeking a Director of Strategic Projects & New Initiatives to help take us to the next level
- This person will take on end-to-end ownership and accountability for driving impactful initiatives aimed at enhancing our patients' journey, unlocking more growth, and driving efficiency across our business
- This person will be a key global leader across our organisation, helping drive innovation in our operational, commercial, product, and clinical delivery
- They will be critical in building a world-class platform we wish to serve all of our patients
- Solve strategic problems: At your core, you are a relentless first principles problem solver and will not stop until we have deeply understood the problem and delivered the solution
- Lowest level of detail combined with long term strategy. You love to get into the weeds and get close the problem, but you are just as comfortable thinking long-term. No job is beneath you
- Own, build and innovate: Develop and experiment with new approaches to drive growth, improve the patient experience, or deliver step change cost savings and efficiencies. You are an extreme owner
- Instil operational excellence: You drive incredible operational discipline and are highly structured in how you work
- Learn and iterate: You are highly comfortable with data and quickly derive insights out of ambiguity

MANUAL is a digital healthcare clinic supporting patients with life-changing conditions such as hormonal imbalance, obesity, menopause and hair loss across the UK and Brazil. It does this with a blend of doctor-specialist services, prescription medication backed by science, and digital products informed by behavioural change.
Manual works to remove the stigma around health problems such as obesity, hormone imbalances and menopause through teleconsultations, testing, regular check-ins and a range of tools, supplements and medications to treat common issues like poor sleep, hair loss, erectile dysfunction and skin conditions. Originally focused solely on men's health, the service led a shift in attitudes among its customers, with about half the men using the service to treat more than one condition, indicating that they're not just seeking help for the worst health issue that they're experiencing. Since, then it has opened its services to all genders with a hope to sift attitudes on a wider variety of health issues.
Manual has raised an impressive amount of capital, most recently in 2024. This funding is being used to expand its reach and enhance its services, particularly focussing on treatments for hormonal imbalance, obesity, and hair loss.
