Who you are

If you already build things on your own and want to be held to a real bar, this is the role for you
Coursework or project experience with React and TypeScript
Familiarity with async data patterns (REST, WebSockets, or similar)
Curiosity about how systems fail and how to build them to recover gracefully
Comfortable asking questions, moving fast, and owning your work in a small team
Nice to Haves
Any exposure to payments, fintech, or hospitality tech

What the job involves

Blackbird is looking for exceptional full stack engineering interns for Summer 2026
You'll ship production code used by real restaurants and diners, not sandboxed projects that never see the light of day
You'll get hands-on experience across the stack and real exposure to how a fast-moving product team works
Build and iterate on features across our web and mobile surfaces
Help debug flows that span our terminal, mobile app, and backend services
Write code that runs in real restaurant environments with real consequences
Contribute to architecture conversations and learn how we make decisions

Our take

Reward and customer loyalty programs are a powerful way for hospitality venues to incentivese repeat visits, with most diners likely to spend more when a restaurant offers some form of reward. Blackbird Labs is a hospitality-focused loyalty and membership app designed to help restaurants build stronger, more personalized relationships with their customers through rewards and exclusive perks.

Beyond rewards, Blackbird's Web3 platform allowa membership options for consumers and provides restaurants with valuable analytics, helping them identify their most loyal customers and better understand preferences.

On top of this, the platform has also partnered with Privy to embed a digital wallet directly within the app. And following 2025 funding, Blackbird is set to launch its newest product, a cross-restaurant "points" service called Blackbird Club. As well as this, its recently expaned into new areas, including San Francisco, Charleston, and SOuth Carolina.
