Role
Who you are
- 5–10 years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or a similar role within a B2B SaaS company
- Experience working in proptech
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build credibility and rapport with stakeholders across all levels, from technical teams to C-suite executives
- Strategic problem-solver who can adapt solutions to complex, diverse client needs and is skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong collaboration skills, with demonstrated success working across teams to ensure customer needs are met and exceed expectations
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Excel, CRM systems, and a solid understanding of APIs and product integrations
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% to engage with customers
- Nice to have: experience building and leading teams
What the job involves
- We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director, Sales Engineering who will be a trusted advisor to our clients, leading complex product demonstrations, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive successful customer acquisition. As the first in this role, you will play a critical role in shaping how we engage with prospects, demonstrate the value of our solutions, and support the sales team in closing deals
- Serve as a strategic partner and advisor to clients, understanding their unique needs and providing tailored solutions that maximize the value of Venn's products
- Lead comprehensive product demonstrations and technical presentations to illustrate how Venn’s solutions address complex business challenges and align with client goals
- Partner with Sales to identify customer pain points, define technical requirements, and deliver tailored solutions that drive business outcomes
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Implementation teams to ensure seamless handoffs and cohesive client experiences
- Identify and lead initiatives for continuous improvement within the Solutions Consulting practice, including refining demo scripts, templates, and playbooks
- Provide expert feedback to Product and Engineering teams based on client experiences and industry trends to influence product innovation and alignment with market needs
- Actively participate in customer workshops, scoping sessions, and post-sales support activities to ensure successful solution delivery and long-term client satisfaction
Our take
In an age where we are spending more of our lives online, there are a handful of technology companies hoping to help us foster offline, local relationships. Facebook and Nextdoor are just a couple attempting to build connections between people and in turn offer services relevant to them - but Venn’s cofounders believe they can do a better job.
Where Facebook’s local offering emerges in a mess of products, and Nextdoor battles controversy and its own unfocused service, Venn has a much more precise strategy. The startup is focusing just on urban areas where there are large apartment buildings, and is forging deals with the landlords of these buildings to build links to their tenants, delivering revenue.
Moving forward, the startup has plans to expand into multiple US markets while ensuring that for every one they foster true connections between neighbors and neighborhoods. Scale can sometimes mean a loss in authenticity but as long as Venn sticks to its local roots, it should ensure millions of people in thousands of neighborhoods are happier, more connected, and more involved in their communities.
