Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience as an API Developer with a focus on cross-platform development and integrations
- 2+ years of experience using Workato, ideally with a Workato Integration Developer Certification
- Expertise in designing, managing, and troubleshooting integrations and automations within the Workato platform
- Strong knowledge of Workato tools, including Task Optimization, Recipe Functions, Recipe Lifecycle Management, Batch/Bulk Processing, and building HTTP connectors
- Familiarity with common API development protocols such as J2EE, JSON, XML, Webhooks, PHP, etc
- Experience with role-based access controls, data management, environmental controls, and audit logs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Proficiency with Atlassian JIRA, JSM, and Confluence is a plus
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for support
- Ability to travel up to 20% to support other Crusoe offices as needed
What the job involves
- As an API Integration Developer at Crusoe Energy, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing integrations that streamline and modernize business processes through workflow automation
- Using the Workato API Management Platform, you’ll work closely with various teams across the organization to gather requirements, create efficient integrations, and automate outdated processes
- You will also manage the workflow automation roadmap, troubleshoot escalations, and ensure reliable system uptime, all while contributing to Crusoe's mission of leveraging stranded energy for sustainable cloud computing
- Design and develop deep API integrations using the Workato API Management Platform to facilitate workflow automation and business process improvement
- Ensure integrations meet specific business needs and support multiple business systems, using protocols such as JSON, XML, and Webhooks
- Collaborate with business units to understand requirements and propose solutions that improve process efficiency and automation
- Advocate for the use of workflow automation to modernize outdated business processes and increase efficiency across the organization
- Work with various teams to collect requirements, propose workflow enhancements, and execute automation solutions that drive business transformation
- Collaborate with IT Operations to maintain and evolve the automation roadmap, ensuring it aligns with long-term business objectives
- Troubleshoot escalations from IT teams, resolve issues related to end-user requests, and ensure reliable system performance
- Conduct regression testing on integrations following platform updates to ensure continued reliability
- Maintain accurate documentation for code, designs, and integrations, including project tickets, configuration documents, and as-built diagrams
- Ensure timely and effective communication with stakeholders to provide project status updates and meet sprint goals in accordance with Agile principles
- Stay current with the latest IT platforms, API developer tools, and best practices for integrations
- Continuously explore new technologies and methodologies to improve the efficiency and scalability of API solutions
- Implement best practices in EAI/SOA and integration development, while ensuring proper management of data and security protocols

Our take
Methane, that is mostly generated by flaring in the oil and gas industry, is a major contributor to global warming - as are the carbon emissions produced by global computing (especially bitcoin mining.) Crusoe Energy Systems reduces flaring, and repurposes waste natural gas into energy for these processes, thus removing methane from the atmosphere and simultaneously reducing the carbon footprint of computing.
Crusoe's mobile data centers can be deployed to generate power from methane waste at its source. As well as its patented Digital Flare Mitigation system, Crusoe is also working to enable alternative revenue streams for renewable and clean energy projects, with the ultimate aim to run data centers on renewable energy.
The company has connections with Kraken Oil & Gas, Devon Energy, Enerplus, and more; and its computing power is used by institutes such as MIT. The rising pressure to take action on climate change, coupled with the need for high-energy computing as more infrastructure moves online, has placed it in a massive industry. With the capability of its systems to reduce the equivalent of 8,000 tonnes per year of CO2 and 2023 debt financing amounting to $200 million in investment, Crusoe Energy Systems is well positioned to make an impact and drive for further success.
