Role
Who you are
- At least 4 years of experience in data science or analytics (gaming, mobile apps, or tech)
- Strong analytical foundation, ideally with a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (or R), and proven experience with predictive modeling (e.g., regression, classification, clustering)
- Solid understanding of statistical methods and experimental design (A/B testing, causal inference, etc.)
- Familiarity with key game metrics (e.g., DAU, retention, monetization KPIs) and marketing metrics (e.g., LTV, CAC, ROAS)
- Proven ability to work independently and drive projects autonomously in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort working with BI tools like Tableau, Looker, or Metabase
- Interest and experience working with LLMs or other generative AI tools, and a passion for exploring how AI can be used to accelerate analytics workflows, insights, or player-facing features
- A proactive and dependable approach, with a track record of taking initiative and following through
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a service-oriented mindset and willingness to support teammates directly
- A positive, well-organized work style, focused on team success and delivering high-quality outcomes
What the job involves
- We’re seeking a versatile and hands-on Data Scientist to join our analytics team and help drive performance across the entire game lifecycle—from user acquisition to in-game engagement and monetization.
- You'll work on a wide range of analytics and modeling challenges, including player behavior analysis, LTV prediction, retention modeling, matchmaking evaluation, and economy balancing
- This is a role with a strong analytical foundation and practical application—ideal for someone excited to impact both gameplay and growth strategy through data
- You’ll build and refine LTV and ROAS prediction models to support both marketing and product monetization strategies
- You’ll analyze player behavior to uncover churn patterns, engagement drivers, and opportunities for personalization
- You’ll collaborate with game designers and product teams to evaluate progression systems, level difficulty, and matchmaking balance
- You’ll design and analyze A/B tests for new features, events, or offers to improve player retention and satisfaction
- You’ll build and maintain data models and pipelines (e.g., using SQL, dbt) to support both game and growth analytics
- You’ll create dashboards and automated reports that surface key insights across game health, economy, and acquisition
- You’ll work with marketing teams on attribution (e.g., SKAN) and campaign analysis when needed
- You’ll proactively propose and drive data science initiatives that improve player experience or business performance
Our take
Merging the worlds of decentralised marketplaces and gaming, Gameplay Galaxy is a company leveraging in-store purchases to create a Web3 ecosystem within immersive mobile games. Its first game, Trial Xtreme Freedom, is a Web3 sequel to the founders previous game Trial Xtreme - which achieved 250 million downloads worldwide.
Whilst blockchain and NFT purchases within games can be met with some criticism, Gameplay Galaxy leverages the new technology to enhance gameplay, providing players with the opportunity to be a part of Trial Xtreme Freedom’s evolution. Users can help create new race tracks and obstacles that can be played by other players, aiming to offer an ecosystem that develops with its user base.
The founders have a proven track record in the gaming industry, having previously co-founded Demedya (which was behind Trial Xtreme Freedom’s predecessor). The company’s user-first approach to building mobile games has helped it achieve substantial seed funding, which will accelerate the development of its debut product.
