Who you are
- This is a mid-senior to senior level legal position that is perfect for a highly qualified lawyer looking for an opportunity in a rapidly scaling company who is open to growth
- The ideal candidate is a strong negotiator who is equally versed in day-to-day legal matters and strategic business thinking
- JD degree with strong academic credentials
- Firm experience in a Technology Transactions group
- Admitted to practice law and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state in which the position is located
- 10+ years relevant experience
- Experience with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements common to Internet based companies
- In depth experience counseling on strategic program initiatives
- Good strategic, business sense, and demonstrated negotiation skills with respect to legal issues
- Detail oriented and technically-adept, preferably with experience at a SaaS or Cloud company
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters
- The ability to work in a team, with lawyers and non-lawyers, to establish scalable solutions efficiently and in an amenable manner
- This position may require access to information protected under U.S. export control laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations

- Our legal team is made up of very accomplished lawyers and staff who comprise a flexible, talented, and very cohesive team
- We are looking for an exceptionally talented, energetic, and friendly attorney to join our legal team based in Austin, TX
- As a senior member of the commercial legal team, you will be called upon to handle sophisticated agreements
- A typical day in this role involves working closely with our sales, partnership, finance, sales operations, and special projects teams to review, draft and negotiate contracts
- You may also find yourself working on a number of other legal issues as needed to support business initiatives
- Draft and negotiate complex agreements including MSAs, BAAs, DPAs, and other contracts common in Internet based services
- Partner with cross functional stakeholders and seek out cross functional expertise on novel issues
- Provide direct support for enterprise grade sales
- Create, update and manage new playbooks as necessary
- Partner with revenue recognition, security, sales operations, technology operations, and other stakeholder teams to ensure agreements are consistent with internal Cloudflare policies and processes

Cloudflare is a multi-service global network that provides web security and infrastructure, DDoS mitigation services, and a content delivery network. Founded in 2009, Cloudflare has risen to become an industry giant, with over 25 million global internet properties on its network.
Cloudflare has been responsible for a number of admirable initiatives, offering free web protection to human rights groups, journalists, artists, and US election websites. This goes some way to counteracting the flak Cloudflare has received in some circles for the controversial groups and users who use its services. This chequered history, however, has not affected its over 80% market share in the content delivery network field.
This is perhaps in part because it has proven sharp at staying abreast of the rapidly morphing tech and digital space and customer demands. For example, Cloudflare is shifting to 100% renewable energy usage to create a zero-emissions internet, and in 2020 released a feature that would help users navigate data privacy regulations by selecting where their data is stored.
And impressive third-quarter 2025 results show strong momentum, with revenue rising to $562 million from $430 million a year earlier. The company also raised its full-year guidance, underscoring confidence in continued growth. As demand for secure, cloud-based infrastructure keeps growing, Cloudflare's expanding platform and improving efficiency leave it well positioned to capture further gains in a rapidly growing market.
