Who you are
- At least 5 years relevant compliance experience gained in a fund or investment management environment
- Strong regulatory knowledge applicable to MiFID2, CDD/EDD/KYC on-boarding experience
- This position will require the individual to be an FCA-approved person to perform SMF16 (Compliance Oversight) and SMF17 (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) functions. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who wants to join a great team and be part of a growing company
- Degree educated or comparable work experience
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and high-quality standards
- Relevant professional development compliance qualifications from ICA, CISI or other professional development body
- You have a sense of urgency and an ability to work well under pressure, prioritising, taking responsibility and working to tight deadlines
What the job involves
- As Head of Compliance (Investments) for CFIL, your role will extend beyond traditional compliance responsibilities. In addition to ensuring MiFID2 Regulatory adherence, you will provide strategic guidance and advice to the business on the development of new investment products
- Executing the Annual Compliance Plan, and the periodic surveillance on the most important Policies relating to investments
- Proven track record in UK compliance and financial crime, ideally with experience operating in the capacity of SMF16 and/or SMF17 in a corporate and/or investment banking firm
- Develop and maintain the firm’s AML and CTF Policies and Procedures in line with the evolving statutory and regulatory obligations
- Provide advice and oversight to the Marketing team in relation to external communications including approving investments financial promotions
- Provide support to the investments business in respect of regulatory & governance issues and implement the SM&CR programme and provide training
- Excellent knowledge of the regulations, the key factors and the legislation governing the financial sector in the UK including but not limited to MiFID II, AML, GDPR, local and regional regulations
- Regulatory monitoring and management, including emerging risks, potential areas of non-compliance, and providing advice on appropriate mitigating actions
- Responsible for all Regulatory reporting for our soon-to-be authorised investments firm
- Ensuring that the company identifies any changes in law and regulation by horizon scanning
- Preparation of reports and updates to the Board, regulators, senior management and any other stakeholders
- Create, update and communicate Compliance policies, procedures and controls relating to our investments firm
- Provide independent and effective challenge, where appropriate, in relation to the Chip’s investments policies
- Provide advice with a sound understanding of EFTs and investment products
- Regulatory monitoring and management, including emerging risks, potential areas of non-compliance, and providing advice on appropriate mitigating actions
