Role
Who you are
- We are seeking a motivated and operationally-driven professional with experience in Tax or Operational Finance
- This role demands a hands-on individual contributor who thrives on optimizing processes and proactively addressing challenges
- We value a candidate who brings operational tax experience but also an attitude for growth and impactful execution
- You have prior experience with US sales tax matters and an operational approach to problem solving
- You also possess an inherent appetite for continuous learning and professional development, embracing new challenges and evolving tax landscapes with enthusiasm
- You have proven experience working effectively in an international setting, adept at managing relationships and collaborating with multiple stakeholders across diverse countries and functions
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Law or other relevant subject
- While not mandatory, a CPA background is considered a significant advantage, reflecting a strong understanding of accounting principles and tax compliance
- Operational experience with US sales tax matters
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical mindset – you will be building processes and structure
- A can-do attitude to problem solving
What the job involves
- We’re looking for an exceptional Tax Analyst to join the Finance superstar team at Too Good To Go in New York
- Upon the guidance by Group Tax, you will contribute to tax matters specific to Too Good To Go’s operations in North America, including sales tax, tax reporting, and State/Federal tax matters
- You will be responsible for your own portfolio of tax projects and provide first line support to US and Canadian account teams and external stakeholders
- Reporting directly to the North America Finance Business Partner and with a strong dotted line to the Global Head of Tax, this position offers a high degree of autonomy and the chance to make an impact on our North American operations
- You will be part of a collaborative Global Finance team of approximately 40 colleagues, predominantly based in Copenhagen, Denmark
- As our Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving tax matters pertaining to Too Good To Go's operations in the United States and Canada. Sales tax matters are the primary focus of this role, but the portfolio also consists of routine tax related to corporate income tax, tax reporting and State tax matters
- Act as primary internal advisor on US and Canadian tax matters, providing direct guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with our internal tech engineers based in Denmark to maintain and continuously develop robust procedures for the accurate calculation and remittance of sales tax across the Too Good To Go Marketplace in the US and Canada
- Coordinate the timely and accurate filing of sales tax, State, and Federal tax returns in conjunction with external tax advisors
- Provide support to US and Canadian account teams and engage in direct dialogue with Key Accounts on sales tax matters
- Monitor and provide first-line partner support in relation to Part XX information returns (Canada), Form 1099-K (US) and other relevant tax forms
- Monitoring and communicating legislative developments in the North American tax space with relevance to TGTG
- Act as main contact for US and Canadian federal and local tax authorities
- Ad hoc tasks to support the development of Finance, Tax and the business

Too Good To Go connects customers to restaurants and stores that have unsold, surplus food, offering steep discounts. Through this, businesses can sell surplus meals that would've otherwise gone to waste, and the environment wins as no food is wasted.
The company has certainly found its niche with sustainability-conscious consumers (a group that is growing in size as environmentally-focused consumers get more spending power). Too Good To Go's app has over 90M users across 18 countries and 215,000+ partners including retailers, hotels and restaurants such as ALDI, Carrefour, Accor and YO! Sushi.
The company is also creating a food waste movement website intended to be an informative source of knowledge regarding the issue. This is part of a wider strategy at raising awareness of the food waste problem, to get more users on board and further help the planet. A 200 million euro fund raise is allegedly in the works for 2025, which would push the platform to unicorn status.
