Experience: 5+ years in product management or operational roles, ideally in a startup or scale-up environment
Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex projects with competing priorities
Leadership: Strong experience leading and mentoring teams, with a focus on execution and collaboration

Plus: MENA market empathy - Arabic language skills and/or familiarity with MENA as our revenue driving markets are advantageous

What the job involves

We are seeking a Teamlead Product who excels in execution and operational management to join our dynamic team in Berlin
In this role, you will act as the operational backbone of our product team, ensuring seamless execution of projects and alignment across stakeholders. This position is deeply rooted in execution and operations, perfect for someone who thrives on driving results, managing cross-functional teams, and delivering high-impact projects on time
You will oversee product managers and designers, aligning their work with business priorities and ensuring we stay on track as we scale. This role requires someone who is highly organized, pragmatic, and skilled at balancing competing priorities while fostering a collaborative team culture
Execution and Delivery: Own the execution of product initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with company objectives
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor product managers and designers, fostering alignment and collaboration
Project Management: Implement and optimize processes to streamline product development and ensure clarity across teams
Operational Excellence: Act as the "Product COO," driving operational efficiencies and prioritizing execution over vision
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, and business teams to maintain clear communication and accountability
Stakeholder Alignment: Translate business goals into actionable plans and ensure alignment across teams
Metrics & Reporting: Track progress, manage risks, and report on KPIs to leadership

Our take

Social media can be a fantastic way for communities to come together, with local residents being able to share news, events, ask questions, and tell jokes to nearby residents. However, having a name and profile tied to posts often puts pressure on users and the content that they share, ultimately preventing people from signing up and contributing.

Jodel develops a social media platform for hyperlocal communities, allowing users to instantly be connected with people around them for the sharing of news, events, information, and entertainment. Unlike most social networks, Jodel does not use the concept of profiles, meaning that content shared on the platform is completely anonymous.

Whilst some existing social media platforms are using anonymity to tackle censorship and free speech, Jodel has taken a more casual approach by focussing on the benefits that anonymity brings to hyperlocal social media communities. The platform also stands out by automatically connecting users with nearby people, as opposed to them having to proactively seek out local and anonymized communities on existing social media platforms.
