Who you are
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar membership in good standing
- Three to five years of experience in related in-house legal department and technology-related contracting experience or law firm experience
- Experience in SaaS, platform payments, and fintech
- Solid understanding of intellectual property, data protection, and privacy issues related to software agreements
- Proven ability to assess and creatively address or mitigate legal risks in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently, managing multiple priorities effectively
What the job involves
- Our Legal team is small but mighty, and we support the business in a wide array of matters. The Corporate Counsel will play an important role on our Legal team
- This role is an individual contributor role and will report to our Deputy General Counsel. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting our sales team by drafting, negotiating, and analyzing contracts
- You will also facilitate product development by strategizing with the business teams and negotiating agreements to procure services from other technology providers
- You will help our team streamline processes and improve efficiency both for the legal team and for other cross-functional company initiatives
- Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a variety of contracts, including Saas subscription, vendor, and other agreements
- Collaborate closely with the business teams to understand business objectives and provide timely legal advice on contract terms and negotiations
- Work with other Legal team members to conduct thorough risk assessments and communicate potential legal implications to relevant stakeholders
- Identify potential issues to help ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in all contractual matters
- Support the legal team in developing and maintaining contract templates, guidelines, playbooks, and best practices
- Work with cross-functional teams to align on and support strategic initiatives, improve operational efficiency, and drive growth

For real estate agents, closing on a property involves a complex set of multiple transactions and endless paperwork, which can risk confusing and frustrating the buyer. The real estate industry has been slow to innovate and leverage technology to create a more streamlined experience, compared to industries such as retail.
