Role
Who you are
- MSc/MRes/MEng or equivalent experience in Computer Vision, Machine Learning or a related field
- Proven experience leading Computer Vision projects from concept to deployment in production environments
- Experience managing or mentoring engineers – formally or informally with a focus on delivery, development and team wellbeing
- Expertise in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Familiarity with large vision models and multimodal architectures (e.g. combining vision and text)
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS or GCP), and model deployment in real-world, data-constrained environments
- Understanding of MLOps tools and practices, including model versioning, training pipelines and monitoring
- You have a people-first mentality. You create clarity, build trust and support your team to do their best work
- You set expectations thoughtfully, give clear and timely feedback and know how to unblock or redirect when needed
- You take ownership of delivery and help the team stay focused through strong prioritisation and consistent rhythms
- You collaborate with curiosity and confidence, working effectively across functions and aligning technical and non-technical perspectives
- You communicate clearly, adjusting your style for different audiences from engineers to commercial teams to company leadership
- You stay close to the work and contribute to architecture, experimentation and model improvement when needed

What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Computer Vision Lead to guide our ML team and shape how we build and deliver state-of-the-art visual AI at scale. You’ll lead a small, talented team working on complex models, smart pipelines and a growing LVM foundation.

- Prioritise across multiple projects, making clear, thoughtful trade-offs that support product and commercial goals
- Support the AI team to deliver impactful work at a consistent, sustainable pace
- Collaborate closely with our Staff-level individual contributor to align on technical direction, context sharing and execution
- While you lead the team, set priorities and drive delivery rhythms, they’ll focus on deep technical execution – together, you’ll shape how the ML function operates and scales
- Contribute to model development, optimisation and architecture – particularly in areas like large vision models and multimodal approaches
- Guide architectural decisions, model refinement and experimentation in collaboration with the team
- Partner with Product, Infrastructure and Customer teams to turn commercial needs into scalable, performant AI systems
- Keep communication clear and feedback loops tight across teams and stakeholders
- Whether you’ve led teams before or are stepping into leadership for the first time, we’ll support you to develop your approach

Our take
Neurolabs is a Computer Vision (CV) platform allowing users to build custom image recognition algorithms using 3D models. It substitutes the expensive and rare real-world data required to train CV algorithms with synthetically generated data to provide massive, rich and diverse low-cost data sets at a fraction of the cost and time.
Synthetic Data combines advanced machine learning techniques and CGI models to create large sets of perfectly labelled data that is optimised for CV. The company’s proprietary CV technology enables rapid state-of-the-art development of object recognition solutions across multiple use cases and industries, accelerating the automation of repetitive visual tasks.
Its technology empowers both small and large customers to implement CV applications with minimal resources and costs — no coding required, no tedious data labelling, and no image gathering. Its partners use the technology to automate generic object recognition tasks in industries ranging from hospitality to retail and manufacturing.
Although ‘automation’ is a term that is often associated with job losses, Neurolabs’ vision is to enhance the capabilities of workers, not replace them outright. With its recent Series A funding, it plans to grow its team and expand its presence across the UK, European and US markets.
